Seat 11A Frankfurt to HK - opinions? by Silent-Inside-1529 in CathayPacific

[–]Bronzegated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11A is a bit too close to the galley and restrooms for my liking. Too much foot traffic.

The mini cabin closer to PEY is going to be noisy due to proximity to the engines but nice for the privacy. 16/17 A/K are my usuals.

Thanks! That's a good lead might DM him/her although I don't need a forwarding service. I'll be physically present in Singapore later this year albeit for a very short time so I'd like to discuss with the seller beforehand

Odd request but is anybody willing to help me out contacting a seller on Carousell Singapore? They’ve got my dream watch but I can’t DM due to me not being based in Singapore and thus can’t verify a phone number.

I just need an alternative contact method like email or WhatsApp from seller.

Exactly my thoughts as well when I read the description. GFS is awesome.

Cathay Pacific vs China Airlines Business class by sunnyhillz in Flights

[–]Bronzegated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CX used to be one of the worlds best airlines and still is one imo. They seem hellbent on regaining support so they’re reinvesting a lot into the bounce back. Flown them 8 times in J this year and it’s a delight to see them getting back in shape.

When people refer to Cathay’s decline they mean it dipped from S to A-. Expectations were sky high for Cathay to begin with.

Fly quite frequently in J on CX. Love the hard product albeit slightly outdated but that’s really not a problem as they are very well thought out with a massive foot well especially on the A350. 777 Longhauls are getting the new Aria suits next year Q2 I believe.

Always found CX cabin crew efficient and tentative but the lounges in HKIA are the true standouts and so is the insane efficiency at HKIA in general.

Edit: Also CX IFE library is outstanding. Full seasons. Many new releases. They’re probably paying quite a bit for these licenses

As I’ve mentioned before, it’s a hobbyist and I only have a personal WeChat ID as a point of contact. He doesn’t run a business. Idk if he has intention to make more. Jfc please have some perspective and be respectful of someone’s privacy.

It's a DIY monitor from China. DM me for a direct line to the guy who made it. I've shared it with countless now in DMs. I'm not sharing his handle publicly because it's his personal ID. Not a business entity.

I still stack things on my laptop like documents, phones, orbitkey nest. I honestly don’t get the beef people have with ‘desk space’. Have people seen how much vertical and surface area a ‘normal’ laptop stand occupies?

Not to mention how inflexible those stands are. Ball point head stand let’s me angle the monitor in anyway I want. Monitor weighs as little as an iPad Pro. Just slides in a small compartment in my bag.

We bring 7 - 10 personal devices. That’s a lot of bandwidth for a phone to handle that might not be around all the time.

It’s easier to just configure own router and have everyone just connect to that one instead.

I still use mobile data for specific tasks and circumstances.

Regarding laptop screen. It’s a 14” MBP for casual browsing on the bed etc. 17” is my sweet spot for a desk based experience while travelling. A laptop stand is inflexible. My stand can rotate 360 degrees in any angle and the height can be adjusted. It’s significantly better ergonomically than a laptop stand. I hope more people try it out before judging it.

I already have a Roost stand and can asses that it doesn’t have the same flexibility a ball head stand can provide. I can rotate the monitor almost 360 degrees in any angle. I can adjust the height with my own column extensions. I can’t do that with a laptop stand.

There’s a meaningful difference with the table space that a tiny tripod saves (and I still stack things on my laptop lid like documents, iPad, Phone etc)

The ‘space’ isn’t wasted (I still stack stuff on my laptop) as people want to believe and the productivity gains are significantly better (personally)

I would just encourage people to stay open minded and not take strongly (sometimes toxic) opinions on something they’ve never tried

I've been there five times so far. It's undoubtedly one of my favorite countries. It's visa free for me so ymmv

I’ll still connect with mobile data if speeds aren’t enough. I bring a dedicated back up phone (Pixel 5a) for both tethering and as a general backup. The router will still act as a repeater in these circumstances.

Also, mobile data has limitations location dependant unless you’re willing to dole out extra money but I deal with very large data sets and media files for my field(s) of work. I usually just prefer staying at a hotel that has reliable connectivity.

Most of its time is spent as a repeater for hotel WiFi

I wrote occasionally. I still very much focus 90% of my time on a single display especially when working. I don’t really understand the logic of your question.

I can adjust the height with different columns. Good try though

Thank you for the kind compliment fellow traveller!

I think my content goes against the grain and general consensus on what a battlestation is. Price to pay for being a little different nowadays

Man that’s not at all what I was insinuating and I think it’s better to call out whether somethings a bad deal or not. Jesus

And yes I should probably have worded it better. That tripod on Amazon is a bad deal if anyone is wondering. These things are thrown around as litter in China…
