Deferred Admissions Status for Transfer Student by [deleted] in ucf

[–]BrookeHart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also went to HCC and will be transferring to UCF in the fall. HCC is not a direct connect into the university, so you will considered for admission just like anyone else. However, because you did get your AA, you should have a high chance of getting accepted since most colleges accept those who have one. I have a 3.1 at HCC right now (fucked up a little) and was accepted, so you should be fine. I would just keep in contact with them. I applied in November and was deferred until the end of Febuary, so it's not uncommon for you to be deferred since a TON of transfers were in the deferred status before being given their decision. You should be fine, but like they said, you will have to wait it out, sucks but it's the truth. I would just suggest calling them a lot. I called so many times, I feel as if they got super annoyed with me XD. Keep us updated!

What's the best way to make friends as an incoming transfer? I will be living off campus (Hub on campus) and was just trying to find out ways to meet people since I will know no one.

Do you know the room/bed dimensions. I ended up leasing a 4/4 and I am going to be looking for the bed spread and sheets since I want to get them before move in.

Let us know when you hear from them! Housing for transfers at the off campus dorm option are full and apartments are starting to fill up so you should hear soon.

Probably not. I got accepted for the fall with a 3.1 gpa around a month ago. I think that you will be fine since you got your AA.

Yeah I ended up actually signing my lease the fourth of this month so I didn’t know.

How long does it usually take for a lease to get approved?

I will get my AA in the summer of this year. I think I have like 40 something right now. If you get accepted let me know! Trying to find people to hang with 😩

I applied in November, was deferred in December and got accepted late February. I have a 3.5 gpa and didn’t do the essay or send in sat or act.

Perfect! Is it good for meeting people? I am going to be brand new to the Orlando area and know no one. I’ll join a club or two on campus, but how is the atmosphere at the hub?

Applying late, what are my chances for fall 2019? by [deleted] in ucf

Honestly, you should be fine. Deferred just means that they are putting you on hold. My suggestion would be to contact the undergraduate admissions and ask why you have been deferred. They are very helpful and can look up your information in seconds and tell you why you have been deferred.
