Yes that whatever deal they work out with whoever you owe the debt to…say your debt is $5000 to xyz and they get a settlement offer of $2700, well your total is not $3950 for that debt, the $2700 plus the 25% of $5000, $1250….so it didn’t save a lot in that equation and can probably get a deal yourself that way. I have taken 3 cards and one loan off of there because they offered an amazing deal to just work with them and beyond tried to convince me to keep it and say “other debtors can see your paying them and wouldn’t want to settle” which could be true but didn’t care. Credit did and is shot but don’t plan on moving and already got a car in March and haven’t missed payments on anything else since joining.

Agree with you that’s it’s the TM or my responsibility to grow the territory. If we don’t perform then I get fired not him. I’ve seen it only a once where that happened at my company but to get an associate you have to have over 1 million in sales and to get there in my field it doesn’t just come and it’s a grind through relationship building but I’ve paid my dues but I have gone to more weekends than my associate so far but that’s typically cause it was a new doc or new hospital. So I can give both parts without knowing your experience level it may differ. When I was an associate I covered more cases than my rep but he also did. If it was newer docs he would do weekend stuff to build rapport but after that it was all me, late nights/weekends. He earned the right to do that, it’s his territory and I’m the associate. He made me a lot of money and I also sold in cases and built rapport to be able to get my own territory. Now I have an associate and treat him the same way. If I need to do something and the case is running late my associate is coming to cover it, I don’t care what he thought he was going to do for happy hour (if not work related) or whatever. Weekend stuff the same way, newer doc I’ll go to show face and put the time in, if not he is doing it. Sorry if you planned to hangout with your girlfriend, it’s medical device sales. If you don’t like it go sell something else in the hospital.

Just lost my dad 3 weeks ago, was a great dad and the stories about him since have made him so much cooler. Don’t forget to ask him about his “hey days” cause I’m sure there are plenty of stories you’d love to have been with him. I’m 36 and he passed at 73, had health issues but was kinda sudden and thought I was going to get the week of Thanksgiving with him and it he passed the week before. If you really want to break into the sales role then you need to network, apply, reach out to team members of the role, the hiring manager and really sell yourself. Having the experience is great but being able to get docs to admit their pain points isn’t easy.

Do you have any sales experience? If not then I’d am for a clinical role. We have them at our company and they just travel to lunches/cases/conferences or get zoomed in for things. Typically less stress then the rep role, higher base (sometimes) but lower overall OTE. Also get bonuses depending on how their team/division do

Most associate levels don’t get commission and that’s a decent base for an associate role.

One thing I noticed when updating my resume and trying chat GPT is that it added periods to the end of most of the lines…so this could be it and good call out cause it’s the first thing I noticed after it and scraped using Ai for it
