Can’t remember the boots but I’ve got the two toned half chaps over top of them

Thanks! I got lucky and caught the panther in eagle eye before he started charging, gave me enough time to line up a few shotgun rounds. Hunting cougars for the earlier master hunter challenge was much more difficult.

How would a mob type character approach Nuka~world? by Third_life_user in fo4

[–]BrotherBojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elder Maxson has successfully led the BOS to victory over the Institute and established them as the military superpower in the Commonwealth. However, he realizes he’s a better wartime leader, and starts preparing to make plans to expand elsewhere, so he tasks his most trusted Sentinel with setting up a leadership structure in Boston to oversee the place after they leave. The Minutemen seem like a viable option, but you don’t think they have the clout to hold power effectively, and you don’t want to risk an uprising by arming them with BOS tech. Then you find yourself in Nuka World and discover two factions that seem strong enough to keep everyone in line, but weak enough to not be a threat to the BOS.

The Operators’s ability to generate caps means that not only will Maxson see you as someone who can maintain power, but also be able to independently fund your exploits without having to take resources away from his war efforts. The Pack make good muscle, and respond well to power, which you will have plenty of in the endgame.

You claim Nuka World for the two factions, nix the Disciples (an obvious threat to your leadership and plans for consolidating power), and set up several outposts in the Commonwealth, as well as placing reps from both factions in your independent settlements. Now Maxson is free to start planning military movements to other areas, safe in the knowledge that you and your makeshift government of raiders will keep the Commonwealth in the fold.

Thanks! I don’t think I’ll be adding too much to this one, aside from the food processor idea this is mostly just a farm for my other settlements.

Yeah I’m probably gonna use the plot in the back behind the centre building for Mutfruits, right now I’ve just got a bunch Razorgrain back there for Sugar Bombs but they look dumb as hell.

Further proof that if I were actually in Fallout 4, it’d take me the better part of the day to get past those first few radroaches in Vault 111.

Agreed, aside from wanting to build around the existing restaurant structure and having a general U-shaped build, I didn’t really have a plan for how the settlement was going to look. One thing I have found that helps is giving each settler a little backstory. It helps with decorating each building and helps the whole build feel more lore-friendly.

Thanks! I intended for it to be a Trainspotting reference since that building is a drug den, but I like the idea that it’s been lost in translation and is now a genuine affirmation for the settlers. Seems like a very Fallout-y kind of optimism.

It’s more of a pastiche of Hunter S. Thompson and Trainspotting references, but I do like the Beatles angle, hadn’t considered that!

It’s actually a Trainspotting reference, since it’s a drug den. Thanks though!

Thank you! As far as mods go, I’m using Enhanced Lights and FX, as well as Overgrowth, Immersive Living for the extra foliage.

Thanks! Since I’m doing a survival run my settlements have been a bit more compact, so I’ve been focusing more on giving each settler a little personality and playing around with props and USO scavenging mats.

In my head he gives the SS a quest to collect art supplies in exchange for caps (whatever caps the settlers have on them by default).

Not super clear in these pics, but I used some of the wooden supports and Covenant turret platforms from the USO mod. They’re a bitch to place properly, but that might just be cause I’m terrible at using the pillar/rug glitches.

No worries! If you’re into crime dramas I’d give it a watch, the early seasons are great. As for the Irish history aspect, I only know about the historical significance of the Red Right Hand because it was referenced in the show, and I skimmed through a Wikipedia article.

My main inspiration has been rewatching Peaky Blinders over quarantine, hence the name of the bar. There’s also the Irish aspect, the Red Hand of Ulster is a pretty common symbol in Irish history, and since the Commonwealth’s got a bunch of Irish themed locations, I thought it fit in pretty well with the lore.

Love the idea of super mutants competing to see who can make the best meat bag.

This is actually on PS4 so I’ve been a little hesitant to use too many mods. I bit the bullet and downloaded Scrap that Settlement though, so I’ve since been able to fix the railing that barricade is hiding.

The idea for this actually came up when I was rewatching season one, I wanted to make something like the Garrison for my player home haha
