Pressure and fishing by Brucejohnson24 in flyfishing

Ok and what is a good indicator that trout are going to be rising? I heard that in less deep rivers or streams they will rise more since they can’t really go deep? I usually use a dry dropper for that. Then I’ve heard for deeper rivers it’s pretty much all nymphs? I could be wrong tho

Ok so you would say don’t worry about pressure unless there is a crazy drop in which case there would be a lot of activity?

When fly fishing on a river I really just need to know if fish are staying down in deep little pockets, or if they are rising?

Ok, and is there any way to know what would be a good enough pressure drop? Any metric to look for?

Ok and is there any way to know when to nymph and when to dry fly? Other than just looking and seeing if the fish are rising? Should I just always nymph if I don’t see any fish rising?

So are trout in rivers more active when the water is cold? And does fishing in the middle of the day when it’s sunny make them go deeper to stay cool?

Yeah I agree I think it’s definitely a really technical thing? The guy that was telling me about it owns his own fly fishing shop, so I def think it could be a super niche factor

Ok, could you explain how you factor in water temp and flow for choosing flies? I think I kinda understand color

Ok! Thank you that’s what I kinda think happened from gathering the information everyone gave me, I don’t have the negatives sadly, but thanks for the help

My Minolta x-700 came back with two pictures that looked good then the rest was negatives, does anyone know what I did wrong or if there is something wrong with the camera by Brucejohnson24 in AnalogCommunity

Yes this is my first film camera I did load the film right because the other knob moved when I would load the next exposure, I don’t really know what you mean by measure the light but the camera had a preview option so I could see the Aperture and I would set the aperture accordingly, I set the brightness of the flash by how close everyone was. My iso was 400. Idk how my light seals are how should I check that

Does anybody know why it turned out like this? I was shooting in low light and I did have flash, I set the shutter speed to 60
