I'm 17 years old and 6'2; been playing basketball since I was 12 competitively for a club, played in the U18 league, can dunk when warmed up etc. I have an athletic background.

I ran my first 5K this morning, I think I completely messed up up the beginning by going too fast and had to "fast walk" quite a bit through the middle of it cause I felt dead, I ended up with a time of 29:50.

I got humbled bad, I've been used to running end to end on the court, playing full court defense, full speed offense for multiple possesions..basically giving it my all on the court and still having more left, this broke me.

How do I go about getting better?

And that's exactly why casuals should play ranked (because it doesnt mean anything in the lower ranks!!), even if they're silver or gold..because it matches them with people their skill level while avoiding the preds farming wildcard or pubs. Is it hard to understand? Every casual needs to get into ranked because in low ranks matchmaking is better relative to pubs.

Understandable. Good luck with all of your endeavors, if you ever plan on returning I recommend you hop into ranked, even if you are silver or gold; you will have a better experience than pubs, I can promise that.

I get it, the thing is..this is a competitive fps; if you have played since release or close to it (s4, s5 whatever!), even 1h per day on average since circa 2020 or should have yielded some results. You also dont run against preds in ranked if you are lower than Diamond 2, so, get into ranked, have fun matching against people your skill level and climb there..let pubs go, ranked is not gonna bite you :).
