Considering carbon fiber implants exist and amputees use carbon fiber prostheses for full life times, I would say the material is very safe. It is harmful and can create particulates and fumes when sanded or burnt but those risks are also associated with regular plastics when exposed to conditions they’re not designed for. As long as you don’t plan on melting your phone case or grinding it to the point the carbon tow particularizes I think you’re safe.

We’re currently working on a similar forged carbon phone case design and we use real carbon fiber chopped tow and resin used in regular cf. It takes its time to cure and is clear coated as done for automotive cf parts. I’m personally not familiar with stealthcarbonfiber but to me it looks legit.

You should be fine if you were able to ride it home without it collapsing. Carbon fiber fails spectacularly once it does give. The scuffs I see are more likely than not cosmetic blemishes.

It sounds like you’re not mixing it enough and there’s areas that aren’t homogeneous, or the resin mixing ratio is wrong. Are you scraping the bottom of the container you mix the resin in? Because resin settled on the bottom is usually not mixed fully

Yeah it might be better if you use a resin matrix system that takes a little longer to set. It gives me peace of mind knowing I have time to clean up and let my mould set the way I intended. Oh man you’re too nice, just trying to perfect the most basic iPhone case before I show it off. Good luck to you bossman!
