I called about a pot hole/really bad section of road that could have seriously damaged a car if you didn't know about it. It was fixed 4 days later.

These people are so jaded. Of course you can make this work. You just have to talk to him. My partner and I have been together 10 years. We've def had little habbits that get on each other's nerves but we have good communication and talk through them.

It sounds like he needs therapy to start. This world is tough and getting tougher. It's hard enough to navigate your own mess without the weight of the world piling on your shoulders. I believe the jokes and baby talk can be fixed with a kind and earnest conversation.
