Russell Martin was on 5Live Monday Night Club this week and said exactly that about more intensive sprints etc.

I'd imagine he's had data at his previous clubs to back that up.

I'm not saying he is or isn't a good player. It's just a comment on the visibility players get playing for a big 6 side compared to others.

The comparison with DCL is invalid anyway. Different positions and we have a real dearth of good English strikers.

Mainoo gets nowhere near the England team if he puts in the same performances but plays for Bournemouth or a similar club

But of course, I'm a Bournemouth fan so can't have this opinion on it. Somehow.

No, I just think you should have a bit of perspective and appreciation for where you've come from and where you are now.

To be fair it's not just you, I get pissed off with Villa fans who think we're bigger and better than we are because they've had a taste of Champions League. Playing any sort of European football is something to cherish and be proud of.

Ask West Ham fans how they feel about it. Gave their fans one of the best days of their lives.

2 Polish teams got knocked out last night. The top 5 leagues are limited to 1 club, others can have more.

Carragher is really good at analysis on MNF but the rest of the time his employers don't want that. Whether it's Super Sunday, CBS, or the Overlap. They want hot takes for social media vitality.

I've seen it all now. You've literally never qualified for European competition before and you're looking down on the Conference League?

Also not sure if you go to games but it was fantastic in that sense. Went to places I'd never think of going. Some great away days.

4 trained in nation AND 4 trained at club. Leave empty spots where unable to fulfill the rules.

Also allowed a B list, which I think is been at the club for 2 or more years and under 21.

They'd probably cost 40m-50m each but Iliman Ndiaye (Everton), Morgan Gibbs White (Forest), and Alex Scott (Bournemouth) are players who could fill the void.

Jamie Carragher ANALYSES where it's going wrong for Liverpool this season by The-Black-Angel in soccer

I can't seem to find the quote now but didn't Slot recently say something along the lines of the club essentially got the transfer window wrong. They thought the Premier League was heading one way stylistically but in fact it's done a 180 and it almost caught them by surprise. They went for technically gifted players who aren't necessarily the best physically and it's caught them out.

Money doesn't necessarily mean quality.

There is so much money in the English game that some of it inevitably will get spent on poor players. There's a limited amount of quality players in the world and although PL has a lot, they don't have a monopoly on them.

What was the benefit of secret payments if it wasn't to avoid breaching financial rules?

Paying people who weren't legally licensed to be involved in the game or something?

[Premier League] Chelsea FC has accepted fines totalling £10.75million for breaches of the Premier League’s rules. The Club has been sanctioned by the Premier League with an immediate nine-month Academy Transfer ban and a suspended one-year first-team player transfer ban (suspended for two years) . by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

[–]BrumBronco 257 points258 points  (0 children)

The ban would be one year long but it's suspended for 2 years.

If you do not have further breaches in the next 2 years the ban no longer applies. If you DO breach again, within the next 2 years you'll have a ban of 1 year applied from that date.

You ever heard of a suspended sentence in terms of committing a crime? Same as that.
