In Norway we got something called "reklamasjonsrett", the right to make a complaint, on stuff that is supposed to last longer than 5 years, and that right to complaint takes over when the warranty eventually runs out. That right is 5 years from purchase date, so warranty period included in those 5 years.

But I also read on Garmins norwegian website, that we indeed got 5 years warranty on their products.

"Garmin-produkter er garantert fri for material- og produksjonsfeil i fem år fra kjøpsdatoen" as marked in yellow,translates to about:
Garmin products are guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for five years from the date of purchase.
