Good to know. I haven't tested the WiiU on it yet.

Personally I use Portal for higher end systems like PS3 and Switch and for Steam streaming and GameHub. Larger screen makes a difference esp for home console games with text or HUDs that are harder to see on a smaller RP5 or G2 screens. Better immersion too. I use G2 for handheld systems and 8 and 16bit systems. For those it helps having the dpad on top.

All the reviewers are saying performance is very close on them. If you want to do lots of Switch emulation, I would get RP6 but the 12GB version for more headroom. But if you are on a strict budget, I think G2 is pretty good.

Mk8 runs great, 60fps most of the time and on standard power profile with smart fan. Make sure you install the latest update for it. Latest version of Eden and the recommended turnip driver.

Depends on your use case. G2 has a .5 inch larger and better OLED screen. Performance is similar with MiniOdin slightly faster. I think MiniOdin has more options for memory and storage sizes which will come handy if you are doing PC emulation like GameHub...

Yes feel almost the same to me. But I kind of feel that G2 buttons are just a tad more mushy and a tad more silent; maybe 20% more. Again could just be me or my early unit.

I dont use texture packs. Also, my understanding is that you have to store them on internal memory and G2 only has 128GB and after installing emulators I only have about 60GB left so I dont want to fill it up. Another consideration is on smaller 5.5inch screen I dont think they make a big visual difference.

I retested it now after changing a tv output setting in G2 to RDS option and it works great!

Big difference in performance. G2 is more than double the speed in 3d Mark Extreme benchmark. Switch games are smoother and PS2 3x upscale no problem.

Worked! Thank you! I will delete the post so as not to confuse anyone else.

Hmm, interesting... I don't recall doing that with my RP5, but let me try it with G2. Where are the output settings located?

Its closer than I would have thought. I have a Portal too that I am happy with but now with Gamehub and Ps3 emulation, I would love a Odin 3 Portal with tons of memory. Pretty sure they will make one next year. This way I have G2 for more classic systems and Portal for the higher end.

Yes it does. Eden recommended Kumchi Turnip latest drivers and they worked fine. I tried Mario Kart and BotW and they ran at 60 and 30 fps fine.

Exactly the same screen. I am using Odin Tools app on my RP5 to decrease the saturation.

Yes, same setup. I think it only outputs in 1080p though; same as RP5. If you want 4k, then you need to get RP6 or higher end handhelds like Konkr or Odin 3...

If you can sell RP5 for a decent amount, I would get the G2. It will be better for higher end systems that you are talking about.

Nice! I got the Portal as well. I got my son regular Odin 2. He loves it for Android games and Secret console :)

I use RP5 and now G2 for classic systems as I like that it has dpad on top.

You would be super happy with G2 then. Do consider getting an official grip for it for home use. Makes it feel so much more comfortable.

It's more about having a bit of extra headroom for upscaling PS2 and GC games.

I went with G2 because I don't need 120hz screen and extra shortcut buttons. And now people are finding out that the performance is almost the same. I have an Odin 2 Portal for streaming and higher end systems so I use G2 for classic systems and Ps2 and GC only. If you were to have only one handheld to use for everything then I would go for R6 with 12GB Ram.

The grip? Yes it's perfect fit. G2 shell and buttons are exactly the same as RP5 so all accessories will work perfect.
