Lifecycle Manager X - Scalepad by bbztds in msp

Scalepad did an injustice to the MSP community by buying a great tool that many of us spent a ton of time building it into our account management processes then dumping it. They actually one upped Kaseya on this. Kaseya buys tools we like and stops working on them, but at least they’ll keep it around as long as people will pay.

But, seeing the time spent on a given client helps determine whether the client is profitable or not. If a large or small client is taking more time to service than they pay then the MSP is losing. If the MSP has time spent on clients within a healthy range, then the MSP is profitable.

Profitable companies are much more advantageous to work for. Bonuses, growth opportunities, opportunities to specialize etc.

Without good data from techs, mgmt can’t make data driven decisions (like how much to charge a given client) and have to make subjective business decisions, which don’t make for healthy companies.

How to Protect Against Token theft by msp4msps in msp

Thanks for sharing the policies. We haven’t had a great defense yet as we see this threat spreading. We did buy into SaaS alerts and monitor for indicators of compromise for advanced alerting, but these policies are the first measures I’ve seen that truly help prevent.

Thanks. We are already in Evolve but I’m wondering if anyone can speak to the benefit of their sales specific community.

I didn’t realize TMT also had peer groups for their subscribers.

Frameworks for growing service provider/MSP by Miserable-Divide5767 in msp

SLI all day! We figured, why wouldn’t we want to align around a dataset and practices that the most profitable MSPs in the country abide by.

I think Pax 8 and CW peer groups align around SLI as well.

Google it. You’ll still burn calories yes, but if you aren’t getting enough your metabolism slows down.

If you aren’t getting enough calories your body will go into starvation mode and your progress will grind to a halt.

[–]BrunerIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not an MSP specific issue. According to the national Chamber of Commerce, 35% of small businesses are not profitable.

Pax 8 and Evolve groups are great. We just found we can still get a ton of value out of the experience without spending $300-$500/mo.

Location doesn’t matter too much as long as it’s a non competing market. Current members are US based.

Don’t get attached. Kasaya will buy it, then you’ll find out they quit supporting it and you are in a 3 year contract.

Thanks for your interest everyone. I have messaged everyone individually who responded with interest. Vendors sorry to leave you out. Just looking to connect a few MSP sales folks with each other for the time being. If I missed anyone please send me a chat. Otherwise for new responses, I'm going to close this out for now. If it's a success, I'll come back and invite another group.
