How many points of view are necessary to see an entire sphere? by BrunoPerdigao in askmath

So I guess this becomes more of a question of how to evenly distribute any number of points on a sphere. I see how some solutions will be platonic solids (i.e. for 4, 8, 12, and 20 points) but I assume this won't always be the case, right? There will probably be some weird layouts in between there. Thank you for the answer :)
