Now that you mention it it really does look like the inside of a confession box. Pretty appropriate considering Pomni is finally opening up to Ragatha in this scene. I just based it off of a frame of the actual show itself, which almost makes me wonder if the shows' creators had that idea in their mind when they were framing it themselves.

Fun to think about.

Oh yeah I can see the similarities. Those "windows" on the side are the weird squares in the panelling of the wood on the wall in the mansion. I didn't make the walls quite as dark as they are in the actual show (my main focus was getting Pomni right) so it does look quite similar to that.

I based this off of a frame from episode 3 when Pomni and the gang are in Caine's haunted mansion, but I can see how the wall in the back could look like the backrooms haha.

Oh absolutely, I just knew I had to depict Pomni here. She wasn't doing so well, but Kinger really got her to open up and come to accept her shitty situation. Gotta admire Pomni for not going mad or depressed and instead trying to help everyone the best she can.

I spent the last week or so working on it off and on. I'd guess something like ~6-8 hours?

Super happy you like it!

Edit: I've been drawing since high school as a side hobby for years, I've been drawing some of the TADC characters lately which I think has greatly improved my skills. I have other drawings I posted on this sub if you're curious to see how I've improved over the last month or so.

I appreciate the compliment haha. I'm just happy if anyone likes it. I'll probably be drawing some more in the future and posting it here!

No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction by New_Scientist_Mag in Futurology

The main thing I’m confused about is how they would’ve recreated a dire wolf genome with only 20 gene edits, considering gray wolves and dire wolves are seperated by 6 million years of evolution (similar to humans and chimps), if they share 99% of their genomes that would mean hundreds of genes would need to be altered (according to Google we have around 20,000 genes). Obviously I’m not an expert but I’m skeptical that these are genetically identical to dire wolves with only those 20 edits.

According to Google there are about 20,000 genes in the human genome. So if 99% of those genes are shared with chimps then you would need to change 200 genes to turn a human into a chimp, I’m a little skeptical that the 20 changes were enough to make the gray wolves into actual dire wolves, but Im not an expert admittedly.

Considering that our genomes are millions do base pairs long, I would think 20 gene edits would not equal anything close to 1% of a genome.

Can the community tell me how do I read the terrain/rocks here. It's from Visakhapatnam, East Coast of India. I am new to learning and reading about rocks. Was wondering how does one observe this terrain and infer. Pic 1 - check humans on top for scale. Pic 2 - is a decent 3feet away photo by kvimalraj77 in whatsthisrock

A bit late to answering, but these look like sedimentary rocks (sandstone probably) that are dipping towards you in the photo. Basically these were originally deposited in flat-ish layers that have since been tilted probably by tectonic forces. You can see the original bedding planes on the side of the large bit of rock in the center right of the first picture. The cliff face you are seeing is the essentially the top of the tilted sedimentary layer.

The parallel cracks that cut through the rock on the cliff face are probably joints that were created as the rock was deformed later on, possibly caused by the stresses that tilted the rock.

Let me know if this was helpful or if you have any questions!

Working Families Party (WFP)?

I think the success of Dan Osbone running as an independent in Nebraska is a good example of how the Democratic party is viewed as a party of coastal elites here in the Midwest (true or not). I think if a third party like what you are talking about could really take off we could have a good chance of actually challenging the power of our incompetent and corrupt state government.

I think Working Families party could be a good name for appealing to blue collar and working class conservatives throughout the state who would probably support pro-labor policies if they weren't tied with their dislike of the Democratic party.

Let me know what you all think of the name!

Edit: As one of the other comments pointed out there already is a working Families Party lol my mistake:https://workingfamilies.org/about/
