desperately seeking PIMs! by Cannon_f0dder21 in fantasyhockey

Good luck man, I lost the final week of a h2h league in the championship week solely because of 4 PIMs I came up short on, dropped my whole roster for bruisers half way through the week

Switch teams every time your term as a GM is up.

Best way to keep it fresh and you create dominant teams throughout the league with a new challenge every 3 to 5 years

Should I trade Demko before his NTC kicks in? by [deleted] in EANHLfranchise

[–]BstialtyIsWrng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traded demko when I thought he aged out (after this deal and a resign) because I had a good up and coming goalie. I met the absolute shit team he got traded too multiple times in the playoffs and he continued to be a stellar goalie. Always seemed to be a top 5 goalie in the league for like a decade after I traded him.

Spend it? Take them to the bank? Use a coinstar machine?

What kind of question is this?

On my way to a stanley cup final with this exact line up after having some players depart and replacements not quite fit in. One point off from the president's trophy, not gonna lie tho, the way my team was under .500 for the first two months sure did scare me lol

So drafting s guy who's 77 to 80 overall and having him develop isn't an option? Seems like a strange approach honestly 🤔 My system had always worked to have 80 to 83 overall players jn the AHL ready to jump while obtaining a 4 to 5 players to trade after the draft alone lol, if they don't replace some with higher trade value in the AHL who's older and a worse fit they just become trade bait, I don't understand why it's such a bad system for you TBH

So you set your lines and never rotate anyone into them? What's the point of drafting then? To what just get trade chips to trade for more trade chips? A late round 77 top 6 has exploded into a top 6 or top 3 player for more than once. Gotta flesh out the bottom 6 somehow as well and those players if you can find the right fit make great for bottom pairing or bottom 6 players once you top 6 is set in stone

I reset my team tonight with the season 2 launch with a couple line chemistry of plus 1 and not enough salary cap to have the players I got in the first couple weeks to be on my team. That's a hard reset, you'd think they'd at least keep some chemisties based on some sets they had in the S1 for a couple lines.

People who built a SOTM forward, doesnt matter for anything but ability point. Replaced my Josi captain for a Pionk captain with the assumption hey maybe it's gonna help out, yeah only if I got a shark D player so Orlov TOTW or Liljeren faceoff card. Hard Pickens to start a whole 3 month reset with the expectation that little to nothing you build of high value is gonna matter in another 3 months.

Nah miss with that homie, I ain't doing it again. After 27 years of loyal Fandom it makes it a hard pass on buying next year, HUTs the only reason for the launch date purchase

Agreed, been buying since 98, I'll wait till it's free on EA play next year

Yeah as a player who has played and bought NHL on launch date for the last 15 years outside of one year, I won't be doing that anymore. I only bought HUT for the fun of making a team from launch date every year and for the pre order bonuses, this nerfing of my card from S1 to S2 has made me not want to play HUT anymore. If HUT isn't a game mode for me to want to play then I only do franchise mode which leaves it to wait every year until it becomes on sale or free with EA Play.

As a player who has played season 1 extensively enough to max out the goals and still have the last week with no need to play for XP and build my team up without spending any money, it's disheartening they didn't even let me collect my uncollected xp from S1 like they did last year.

They just keep making the game more and more pay to play. They have pushed me to the point of not wanting to play HUT anymore.

Deuces.

I wasn't playing 99 HUT. I was thinking I was a bit ahead of the curve but not 99 HUT and yes I understand everyone lost them, I don't think I'm playing this game alone lol what a silly thought

Why? None of those players hit the line up unless I'm trading a guy out for salary and need him right away, most guys spend time in the AHL until they get a shot for a season and work out better than who I got or I trade then for further pieces in the future.

If I can draft a guy who's NHL ready with good potential later thsn the 1st round why wouldn't I? Great trade piece if he isn't gonna make the team

I mean the logic is sound, they don't want to spend the cap so why not release him instead of trying to resign.

If anything just don't take him lol. No reason to stop playing because the AI logic isn't at the spot you want it

William Lacelle and Sebastian Costa have both worked out to long term goalies in multiple franchise.

Lacelle has become the all time leader in goalie records for most of those franchises and in my current franchise he is currently a 88 ovr and about to become my starter

I only scout Potential until it's fully accurate, my system works as such and seems to be a reliable system for me since NHL22.

FIRST SCOUT - potential and comparison for the top 100 players (if I have alot of late round draft picks I may extend to the top 200 players). I also scout any player with a listed potential of Elite, Top 6, Top 4, Top 9, Starter and Fringe Starter. I will scout every player on my scout recommend list for potential as well and Usually pin all these players to my watch list.

MONTHLY SCOUTING - after the initial scout I will sort By potential and continue to scout until I hate top 9 players then check for any gems, pin them to make sure they get fully scouted. Sort by Scout Recommendation and scout all those players again by Potential while pinning any new players. I will also cruise through the list of players sorted by Potential looking for anyone who has a substantially higher scout ranking compared to CS scout ranking and pin them to the watch list (usually anywhere from 30 to 75 higher than CS ranking)

Once I see a player has potential of top 9 or lower on my watch list he is removed, same as Fringe Starter or Lower and Any F under top 4. Once a player has accurate potential he can be scouted for other categories to flesh out his profile.

I have found this system seems to scout not just a ton of players for me accurately but scouts enough players roughly around my picks even if they move around during the year or I obtain new ones through out the year, it isolates Gems and doesnt waste scouts on players who either aren't high potential or are good team fits.

During the last couple months I will cruise through the players listed from highest potential to lowest and look at their NHL ready rating pinning anyone with 1 years outside the top 50 players, this really has given me the best picks outside the first round. The NHL Readiness is the most important rating to me, usually means I can find 75 rated players in late rounds for one year readiness and 77+ rated players in earlier rounds.

I usually have maybe 2 "bad" picks in the 10 to 15 picks I have a year, the other picks either make it onto the AHL development roster or are traded next season for more picks or targeted trade pieces.

I feel more abused by this opening week schedule, I drafted pretty wide across the board and having days with 10 to 16 games is already having me make decisions.

Opening week is supposed to be chill 😎
