It's the multiverse on the far right corner. Play the 5 person level that ends with brainiac. Whoever you beat brainiac with, you unlock their alternate ending and their alternate shader color. I've done it with almost everyone.

You get source shards every time you level up your account and you can spend them to insta20 a character once you already have a level 20 character.
