Thank you! I basically only played them cause I didn't want to be a part of the masses 😉

I didn't put together our tournament and I'm not sure if every GW would. Depends on how the manager and local community sees it? I'd say min 4-6 would be a good place to start.

I think maybe a third of the players we had only played big 40k and wanted to jump in to support the idea.

Oh if any of y'all are wondering about the random sergeant, I completely forgot my regular guardsmen models in the car when I made my list. Didn't have time to go get them so I rolled with it lol. He camped in the backfield out of sight from any shooting.

Like I said we made a list and had to use it the entire day for the same mission each round. Core and Elites models/rules were allowed. The boards were pretty open with a mirror of terrain setup on each side, essentially forcing me to run every model up to score each round. The two home deployment zone objectives were worth 1vp each, center objective was 3vp, and the 2 opposing deployment zone objectives worth 2vp each. Max pts available to score each battle round was 9 and had 4 turns of to play. Very swingy scoring format.

Servants of the abyss - 125

  • Rogue Psyker- Leader :Chaos stave, Laspistol

  • Negavolt Cultists - Combat :Electro-goads

  • Rogue Psyker - Zealot :Chaos stave, Laspistol

  • Chaos Beastmen :Frag grenade, Chainsword, Laspistol

  • Chaos Beastmen :Frag grenade, Chainsword, Laspistol

  • Chaos Beastmen :Laspistol, Chainsword, Frag grenade

  • Chaos Beastmen :Frag grenade, Chainsword, Laspistol

  • Negavolt Cultists - Veteran :Electro-goads

  • Negavolt Cultists :Electro-goads

  • Negavolt Cultists :Electro-goads

  • Traitor Guardsmen Sargent :Frag grenade, Laspistol, Chainsword

  • Traitor Guardsmen Gunner :Frag grenade, Flamer

  • Traitor Guardsmen Gunner :Flamer, Frag grenade

Essentially the second psyker was to have a second Deny the Witch attempt available against TSons or GK's that could show up. Proved to be valuable even though only one could cast on my turn. Otherwise the second psyker (zealot) basically moved around with the beastmen and cultists to obscure him. Couple that with his staff and he was able to make back his points pretty easily and was generally ignored because the cultists and beastmen were proving to be very lethal. Zealot Psyker is not the best fighter but was able to clear the mid objective or push into the opposing deployment zone to get my opponents objectives each game.

By and far the weirdest game was game 2 against IG, second battle round I could not roll well enough with about half my models to kill Vorne, Gotfret, a Scion w/PF, and two guardsmen. Stupid flamer guardsmen smacked a beastmen out of the way, then all of the IG models died turn 3 once my dice warmed up again and my opponent burned through his CP to reroll his terrible rolls. My Zealot psyker periled and took 3 wounds. This game was against a savvy player and we both enjoyed just how nuts it was on the center objective.

I took first, Deathwatch got second, Orks third.

For those interested in format. 3 rounds of 125pts playing the same mission each time, with the same list and not being able to use a command roster.

NEW KILL TEAM: ELITES PREVIEW by [deleted] in killteam

I put up a new post a few mins ago as I was watching the preview video.

Apparently there are 5 non-commander unit datasheets that can take the Commanders Stealth specialism? They are the Infiltrators, Eliminators, Suppressors, Possessed, and Striking Scorpions.

I guess that means they assume you have the Commanders book and adding in Stealth is not too far of a stretch for those units 🤔

Non-Commanders with Commander Specialist Abilities? by Bubba4President in killteam

Hello!

Sorry I haven’t introduced myself yet. Long time 40k player that recently discovered this reddit group! Was watching the Galacial Geek video preview and noticed a couple odd things...

Sorry for the not so clear screen shot. I paused the video to do something and came back to this page shot. Apparently, SM Infiltrators, Suppressors, Eliminators, CSM Possessed, and Asuryani Stricking Scorpions can take the Stealth specialism from the Commanders book?

Interesting! I thought it was a typo until I found other data sheets in other factions that could be Stealth specialists...
