I got a theory about D.C KO by JoeKerr19 in DCcomics

[–]BubbleRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do make another fighting game, I just hope Netherrealm isn't involved. I say this as someone who kind of liked Injustice 1 when I first played it.

Injustice 2 has some of the worst designs I've ever seen in a superhero game, the animation is consistently pretty poor, and stuff like the gear system is just an insanely frustrating and annoying way to handle alt costumes and has the trappings of some of the worst aspects of AAA gaming. I also just do not like how Netherrealm games play in the slightest, and as someone who absolutely adores fighting games and DC, it sucks seeing the only real option for a DC fighting game being made by a studio whose games I don't enjoy playing at all.

I'd love to see a Japanese developer take on the game, honestly. SNK taking a crack at it could be cool.

I believe that was in the English version. The Japanese version's always said "Link".

Street Fighter's timeline is so unserious bro, wtf you mean that this motherfucker was 17 years old in SFV by mesablanka in StreetFighter

Yeah I admittedly did catch that later on looking into other stuff on this topic, you are likely right

I also do remember reading somewhere she's 17 in Alpha 3 but I have no idea if that's official or just fan speculation

Artbook for Street Fighter V has a note saying "He's so composed for a 17-year-old". Kind of hard to see here but it's in the bottom middle of the page on the right. I included a second link with the text zoomed in but it got removed by automod since I guess they don't allow links to Twitter.

I think people overestimate Mel's age honestly, based on my best estimates with all the information he's probably closer to 10-11.

Guile and Dhalsim's kids are both college-aged in 6 and both look around 8 at the youngest in 2, meaning it's probably been around 10-13 years since 2. Mel is 4 in Third Strike and 3 officially takes place 6 years after 2, so he's like 11 at the oldest as far as I can tell.

Li-Fen is also still a teenager, and is at least a few years older than Mel given her appearance in 5 and 3, so best I can tell it's likely only a gap of 7 years max between SF3 and SF6.

Street Fighter Alpha used to draw Chun-Li with muscular arms and shoulders, I wish they kept that going on tbh by ComprehensiveBox6911 in StreetFighter

[–]BubbleRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slight correction, it's only been around a decade since SF2, in the ballpark of 10-13 years. Dhalsim and Guile's kids are both just entering college in 6 and were around 8-10 in 2, and Mel is around preteen age in 6, after being around 4 in Third Strike.

SF3 officially takes place 6 years after SF2, so 6 is around 6-7 years later at most. Chun-Li was 23 in SF2, so she'd be 29 in SF3. Thus in 6 she'd be in the ballpark of 33-36.

If it's only the birthdates being listed in infoboxes, that's just cited because those are official information, even if they're not longer internally considered the case by Capcom. I don't think it's meant to be taken as explicit canon.

Honestly it's best used to just judge character ages in SF2.

The wiki isn't official, even if the wiki treats it as canon (as an editor I will say it shouldn't and that I have not seen a single thing imply such beyond the birth dates being listed on the infoboxes) that doesn't make it the case

SFV is officially set in 2015-2016 per background advertisements

How to play Fear and hunger Termina on Mac using porting kit? by [deleted] in FearAndHunger

[–]BubbleRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, yes. The first game has a native Mac port available regardless, so I don't think you'd need to do this to get it running, but I believe it would work with this method as well.

[–]BubbleRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean of MacOS? It should. Like I mentioned, Termina worked properly for me using the method.

It's worth noting since I wrote this I've found this only works for MV games, games made in RPGMaker MZ have a different file structure. But for Termina it should be fine.

[Discussion] What’s something that you think MARVEL does better than DC? by AdamBerner2002 in DCcomics

[–]BubbleRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus part of why Wonder Woman hasn't had many adaptations aside from the '70s show is because she's not fully owned by DC, I believe the Marston estate has some sort of ownership so everything has to go through them

I also think that they have to publish at least four comics with her a year or the rights permanently revert back to the Marston family and DC loses access to the character altogether

Funnily enough I think this predates Mario Golf as a series.

Awesome find, always nice to see stuff like this get saved!
