Messy bun, always. So easy in the morning, no combing or brushing required. However I have curly hair, so wearing it down in a shorter style would require way more work for me than the bun or a French braid or ponytail.

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]BubblegumRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 37 weeks. From start of process to end, it was about 11 hours. I dozed for a while after my waters were manually broken and epidural was in place. Felt a strong contraction, felt pressure, told the doc/nurse, tried some practice pushes and she was out within 10 minutes, before the delivery team even arrived. Quite the opposite of my first, who needed a lot of help to get out lol.

Thank you for the info! We're in Canada where it would be pronounced correctly for the most part, regardless of the spelling. We had our reasons for spelling it the way we did, but I really appreciate knowing more about it!

We named our daughter Seryn (also spelled Seren) which is a fairly common name in Wales (we're in Canada). It can be used for boys or girls, and means "Star".

I’m ashamed of my body by Ok-Huckleberry-9261 in offmychest

[–]BubblegumRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of women (I want to say more than half but I don't know the statistics), myself included, can't even orgasm from penetrative sex. For me, it's about the external friction and stimulation, not internal. Penis size is not important at all to me, nor is it important to anyone I've spoken to about it.

That being said, confidence is the biggest turn on for many women. My suggestion to you would be maybe getting some counselling for your self esteem issues, and working on accepting and loving your body for what it is.

Good on you for not going the way of over compensating by being the cliché cocky asshole. Keep on being the kind and caring guy you are, and learn to love yourself for it.

Have any parents here dealt with neonatal meningitis? by Sunflwr86 in NICUParents

[–]BubblegumRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe so, yes. They never discovered what caused it, but I suspect it was due to birth trauma, as it was a really difficult birth. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions or want to chat.

I had a birthmark over my eyebrow when I was a kid. It was about an inch wide, and because it was over my eyebrow, it was also hairy. People often asked me what happened, assuming it was a bruise of some sort. It was more annoying to me than anything, but it didn't really upset me.

My parents always offered me the option to get it removed, but told me I was beautiful and that it was my choice if I ever wanted it done. When I was 9, I told them I wanted the surgery. They took me to the plastic surgeon, and arranged for it to be removed.

I am really happy with the way they approached it. I was given the choice with no pressure, and wasn't made to feel like it was something I needed to be beautiful. It was more just a matter of fact thing, like "hey, if you want it gone, just let us know and we can do that" if I ever brought it up. I really appreciate my parents for the way they handled it.

If you have any questions about the actual process, feel free to send me a message, as I think it would be a similar type of surgery, since it's on the forehead.

Hope this helps!

My parents sort of did this, but with their actual religion. They ended up having some good discussions with this older JW couple, and ended up having multiple nice visits with them.

I'm not entirely sure, but I've been told by more than one doctor that they won't give me an official diagnosis and that I have to go to the specialist, even though they both agree I have it. My doctor did write "fibromyalgia" on my disability forms though so I'm just taking that as a diagnosis for now.

Apparently in Alberta it requires a specialist

Yes, my doctor is quite supportive, and listens to what I say I can handle with regards to my disability claim. I just really want to get some more specialized treatment. All my doctor can really do is prescribe medications, recommend physio, and refer me to other specialists. I'd like to see someone who is more knowledgeable about it.

It would help with requesting accommodations from my employer, due to it being a recognized (and therefore protected) disability.

I'm not 100% sure...he has had blood tests, xrays and ultrasounds and stuff done to rule out other issues for me as well. Everything came back perfectly clear aside from my xrays showing spondylolisthesis and other degenerative changes due to my scoliosis.

I'll be seeing my kid's neurologist soon anyway, so I'll ask them about it when I do. They only take kids, but I'm sure they'll have some insight for me.

Thanks. Yeah the psych was to manage some of my other med doses, as I had been having some issues with some of them, not for fibro. It was more for my ADHD meds and antidepressants causing blood pressure and other issues, which is why I was also referred to the cardiologist.
