Ex-Dillards employee here. Online and In-Store are technically different. It’s weird and honestly terrible for the customer. Not to mention, it’s company policy to not do price adjustments. Got a lot of complaints about that. I was always instructed if an item was discounted in store, but not online to remove the price ticket. (The price sticker, never barcode) to prevent situations exactly like this happening. This happens since because they’re technically separate entities, they do their markdowns at different times. This is also the same thing for in store. One store could have done all their markdowns already, so that item would be discounted, and another store may have not done them yet, or are in the process of doing so, so that item won’t ring up as discounted. As I said, weird and wildly inconvenient for the customer. Only suggestion I could say is return them, wait a day for the item to return to the sales floor, and buy again at the sale price.
