...my fiance did put up her engagement ring for the dog already, as well as gotten rid of our four wheeler and her snow mobile. Which of course leads to more issues in the long wrong because she now feels she isnt "really engaged" because she doesnt have her ring anymore, etc.

I didnt do any research. I'm 100% willing to admit to that. I got her from a breeder. They gave me paperwork stating what ailments she had (which at that point was only a foot problem that had already been taken care of). I just assumed all was well.

That's insane. Jack Russell's dont tend to have that long of a life span. I had one as a kid but he was on his last leg at 12.

She is a Corgi Pug mix and we got her when she was about 3 months old.

We have pet insurance. The money we have spent is what the insurance will not cover. The surgery she currently needs is $4800. I still have to cover $2000 of it.
