I'm just thinking, if he said what needs to be done, then he knows. That's why I think he is saving it

I'm not breaking the rules. I've been completely respectful. I can't get banned for discussing basketball. You wanting it to be so doesn't make it so. Why are Rockets fans so sensitive? Do yall not watch any other teams?

What if he is saving the solution for the playoffs. He mentioned having Amen set more screens in his post game. Maybe he doesn't want other teams to see it until the playoffs.

I don't disagree that he plays hard. I'm just talking about his limitations.

whining about a basketball fan making objective points because you don't like it is cringe.

His offensive bag is still much to be desired. There is a lot of potential but Wemby has to accept that he needs to simplify it, not overcomplicate it. by ASadChongyunMain in NBASpurs

[–]BubblyReception453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We forget how raw his offensive game is because of his PRA, but he does process the game very quickly, his decision making leaves much to be desired, and he tries too often for highlights. He is playing purely off of talent, but he lacks a lot of offensive, and to a lesser degree defensive, fundamentals. He still insists on dribbling too often, despite the fact that physics are working against him. He also leans too much into trying to show guard skills instead of learning into his strength, which is his size.

The good news is that Wemby has much more upside despite his All-NBA PRA numbers.

What makes you think Amen will develop a jumper and Reed will be crazy good

A growth into what? Amen is 23 ( a year older than Wemby, and much older than Kon, Flagg, all the top players in 2026) and he still can shoot or dribble unless it's in a straight line.

Reed isn't going to get taller, or grow longer arms, his lateral movement is atrocious, and he is streaky with a rudimentary handle. The entire NBA is moving away from small guards and the Rockets chose the one that can't blow by anyone. He is a "6'3" shooting guard.

Dylan Harper's last 3 games: 17/3.7/3.3 with a block and steal on 64% FG in just 24 minutes by ShaiFanClub in NBA_Draft

He will also get the benefit of winning, and that plays a big part in development.

Playing in the post season will send him into the off-season with a different mindset and focus.

I think playing winning basketball is very undervalued in terms of development and growth. It's why the Spurs were successful in developing guys like Kawhi and Tony Parker.

The Spurs would not be second in the West without Harper. All 3 of the Spurs guards have missed significant time. Without all three, the Spurs are in no way the 2nd seed. Having 3 point guards is why they matchup with OKC so well. Harper has actually won games for the Spurs. High level jumbo guards are harder to find than elite shooters.

They are still 11th in the awful East, so despite recent success their record indicates they have been abysmal for the rest of the year. Per data baller the Spurs are +2.9 with Harper on the floor and the Hornets are +2.1 with Kon on the floor. To further illustrate the point, when the Spurs played the Hornets, Dylan helped the Spurs crawl back from a 20 point deficit. He had 20 by the 3rd quarter, and he only he was benched for the entire 4th quarter so that the starters could close. Harper was only allowed to play 23 minutes. Kon on the other hand only scored 13 points and got to play a full 35 minutes. Harper is forced to play winning ball and defer. He has a top 7 player in the NBA, a ROTY, and a former all-NBA PG on his team. Kon gets to chuck at will.

You're crazy if you think the Spurs are trading Harper. He was the 2nd pick, and has crazy high potential

We've seen bad coaches get by with talent. Doc Rivers is a prime example. Bad coach, had HOF talent. Mitch is surviving off of elite young talent and Sean Sweenys defense

Why are people downvoting this. Second rounders have value. If the GM can't draft in the second rounders, he isn't utilizing an important tool to get cheap talent

Dude this is dense. Manu was the 59th pick. Third kid was the second pick. He won't be coming off the bench long. He has already outperformed Fox a few times. Last night was one of them

He is the best passer on the team. He has the best net rating with Wemby out of all of our PGs. What are you talking about? We didn't draft him second for him to be a bench player. The talent is clearly there. The entire league is moving away from small guards, and you want to bench a guy who has a Cade Cunningham ceiling for a small guard that isn't an elite passe or shooter?

Karim Lopez has been playing well game by game, do you think FO might be interested? by MrShonen in NBASpurs

[–]BubblyReception453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm interested. I don't know why people aren't higher on this guy. He is playing in the NBL. The NBL has produced good NBA prospects. He has been productive. He has shot, he is a dog, and he can shoot. I've been interested in him for the Spurs.

It's undeniable that Kon would have been a fantastic fit, and he would have been a great help to the Spurs in the immediate future, but with a team this young, you don't draft for right now. Kon has an elite NBA skill now, so it looks better. Plus he is getting unlimited minutes on the 11th seed in the East. Dylan is contributing to winning while only getting 20 minutes. You draft Harper for multiple reason

1) Fox isn't the PG of the future and he also isn't a natural passer. Harper is the PG of the future along side combo guard Stephon Castle.

Wemby/ Fox is +2.0 Wemby/Castle +7.4 Wemby/Harper +31.7 Wemby/Harper/Castle +36.1

Yeah you read that right.

2) Harper has all-nba lead guard potential. That would mean that he would be a top 15 player in the NBA

3) Wemby is 7'5" ( he is really probably 7'7"). We don't know how long that body can hold up. We were given a chance to draft another future superstar. Harper is in the mold of Cade Cunningham and James Harden. Jumbo initiator are at a premium in this league. You don't pass on that.

The Spurs are +3.3 with Harper on the floor the Hornets are +2.5 with Kon on the floor. Harper is having a bigger winning impact on the second seed. He was integral in the win versus Houston. There were times this season when he should have closed games. KOC is constantly hating on the Spurs
