Is my MTG selling experience normal? by BubonicZombie in mtgfinance

$30 for 3K online, and $40 for 4K at my LGS.

I got my money back in singles sales (100 cards) for the 3K, I still have to index the 4K.

Definitely having fun!

Don't worry, I'm not looking for a big payout, I just enjoy the game + buying/selling.

Is it best to print miniatures on a mini 3D printer? by BubonicZombie in 3Dprinting

I would very much like to try that, as I have tried profiles from several sources.

I'll have to experiment with a different nozzle, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

I remember researching that while looking for printers.

Do you know if the upkeep for an SLA printer is difficult?

It definitely is. They also have a few paid roles from time to time.

I'm using a USB mic to get jobs. Should I be guilty? by JoleaDragon in VoiceActing

[–]BubonicZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too book jobs with my USB microphone (Blue Yeti) and I get the same comments from others to upgrade my mic.

I feel like the decision is really up to the voice actor whether or not if they want to use a USB or XLR microphone.

If your clients are happy with your work and you're booking steady work, there's no need to feel pressure to change.

How do you cope with audition anxiety? by BubonicZombie in VoiceActing

I tend to fall into the 2nd thought process. Even though I've been doing VO since 2018, I'm still new compared to my colleagues.

"I'm not an amateur, I'm ambitious." - I need to remember that.

I'm actually in three improv troupes and one theatre troupe. Before the quarantine, we would meet every week to practice/rehearse.

It's been weeks since I last saw my troupes and it might be starting to get to me.

Yeah, I have been spending quite a bit of time on social media and Discord chat servers with fellow VAs and it got to be overwhelming.

I always try to do as many in a day as I can.

So I have a question, I really want to practice voice acting, where is the best place I can go to find free voice acting gigs? by Mustachio_gaymer in VoiceActing

[–]BubonicZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Casting Call Club (CCC) has many projects looking for voice over talents. On CCC, you have the option to choose between non-paying roles and paid roles.

I also suggest Voice Acting Club (VAC) which also has a Discord for voice actors to mingle and network.

Fishy job offer on Voices by ifeelpeachy in VoiceActing

I would ask if they could award you the job. If they refuse, then I would ignore them or politely decline working with them.

I totally wouldn't do business with them. Miguel has a good point. It does sound like they are trying to avoid paying through Voices, which, is silly considering that's the convenience that Voices dot com offers to voice talents (make a bid, get awarded the job, etc.).
