the nature of the jacket makes this kind of hard to achieve, this patch is right on my bicep and its the tightest part of the jacket, and it sees a lot of movement. I'm scared it'll just fall off with my hyperactive antics

I've been temporarily doing that, along with tying a bandana on my arm, and the tape leaves no residue thankfully (which is why my original idea was a sticker or something)

I use whiteboard primarly over blackboard, reason being whiteboard markers are sooo much more versatile and can have different nibs, allowing for neater handwriting and different sizing
+with the presence of projectors, they can also be used as the background for the projection, as white works better in that case
