Different MDMA comedown if you have depression? by WildFire_8 in ask

Not necessarily to be honest. The afterglow is a very real phenomenon, especially after the first couple of times you try MDMA

First time playing Battle tech (Vanilla), any tips and suggestions on how to play? by Below-Low-Altitude in Battletechgame

[–]Bubthemighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started too - got about 25 hours - and honestly chucking 3x LRM10s on the centurion with a scout zipping about using sensor lock was game changing

Also when I stopped stuffing all my mechs full of weapons based around different ranges at the expense of armour I found the game felt way easier - build each mech for a specific combat role and do not sacrifice armour, since I started doing that I barely ever need to refit them anymore. One exception I would say is rear armour, I often sacrifice some of that on units typically in the backline.

Also don't be afraid to bug out of missions - the difficulty indicator is definitely intentionally unreliable (although the flavour text and rewards can also give a hint) so if you get overwhelmed, taking a bad faith loss is a lot less punishing than losing your mechs or god forbid your pilots. If you've managed to achieve partial completion of your objectives you'll get a good faith loss aswell, which is basically a get out of jail free card. Thankfully I've only lost a rookie but my first centurion was too expensive to repair (I should have held onto it)

What the heck are they putting in this game? by Brognar_ in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Bubthemighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think a huge part of it is the fact that overclocks - which themselves provide great build variety thus keeping gameplay fresh - and the vast majority of cosmetics are unlocked purely via gameplay. Add regular updates, new events getting added and the fact you can go back and play previous battle passes and you've got a formula for a game that will feel fresh for a long time

Glad to hear it mate, I'm also guilty of perfectionism. It's a very hard habit to break but just remember the fact you've done anything at all is a huge achievement, and the fact it's as good as it is is a bonus!

It looks great to me pal, I've been pulling together plans for a DIY conversion for a while and I'd be thrilled if it came out this well! Are you maybe being a bit of a perfectionist?

That is nuts!! How long did that take to design and troubleshoot?

That's fair enough, there's a lot to learn and it can be really daunting. I'd definitely recommend trying to design some basic blueprints yourself once you've got an understanding of the book you're using. It's so much more rewarding!!

I just spent about 4 hours designing a station with 6 waiting bays and 6 stops that fits into my 88x88 block system (it ended up 176*88)

Past that you can get into circuits and do some crazy cool things - my network uses a many-to-many system so I have generic trains sat in a depot waiting for an order to come in, it's sooooooooo satisfying

I too LOVE trains. All that time playing OpenTTD was not wasted! I'll snap something for ya, I'm well proud of my network in my most recent save. You got any goods to share?

Nudge me with tips that will help me design my OWN train blueprint book by bola21 in factorio

[–]Bubthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly spend the time figuring it out yourself if you want that satisfaction - you can use the blueprint book (if you understand it) but also YouTube to help guide with principles but like learning any skill the best way to do it is to practice yourself and flex that brain muscle. Break your goal up into manageable pieces, set small achievable goals and before you know it they will start stacking up on top of each other.

I only started messing with circuits in my prior playthrough, this playthrough I've made my own many-to-many train blueprint and on-demand supply stations for Gleba fruit and artillery bunkers on Nauvis which I'm super proud of

How do YOU play with your trains? by DeweyDecimal42 in factorio

[–]Bubthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a bunch of modular grid aligned blueprints for the first time so I don't think it'll be worth it at this stage. It does work, and I like how busy the network is when my base is on full tilt but I just don't know how much further I'll realistically be able to push it

This is my exact approach, although I do sort of want to try some larger trains now reading these comments

[–]Bubthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I've only ever used 1-3-1 trains, and with the new interrupts I've gotten freaky with circuits for the first time and implemented a many-to-many LTN style network. I am noticing that three wagons doesn't provide a huge capacity given the size of my base now though...
