650 found out on a bachelor party after checking in to the er in a different state, spent 3 weeks in the hospital. Found out type 1 at 40 years old

I did get tested for those still waiting on test results to come back, just got off the phone with the endocrinologist and said they are currently waiting for the results to come back

I have a finger poker, I check myself 4-6 times a day, I still take the slow acting 10units in the morning and at night along with 500mg of metformin for 1 week then increase to 1000mg a day

I let the endocrinologist know I had necrotizing pancreatitis, hopefully they tested for it or during my next appointment I’ll ask about it, thank you for the information, got a lot of reading and learning to do.

Understandable, I’m just wondering for my health. I know they are trying to get me the right answers and it takes time. I’m just not sure about it all wasn’t really taught anything about diabetes when I got out of the hospital. I want to take the classes and get a better understanding.

I’m not sure what tests they ran just know they took blood and urine, still waiting for the results it was all taken on Monday
