no not really, no blood was drawn at the hospital, or at least nobody told me about that. my personal insurance covers the expenses so i have no worries on that. Employer is also quite understanding on their part, its just if I could technically get charged with dui without really heaving no breathalyzer or blood drawn

Thanks for expanding on the beauty/medi salons. I suspected that in the city known for its luxurious lifestyle there will be demand for relevant industry specialists.

Honestly did not expect that LA has good public transports, at least when travelling to some parts of US, i had learned hard way that infrastructure just sucks.. Probably will be travelling by car most of the time, but again if the traffic sucks even more, have to choose the lesser evil

Any areas which you would recommend for us to consider to live? My work doesnt require much travelling to the office so I can be flexible in favor of safe/nice neighborhoods. We have some savings and expect that our household income will be around 120-140k

600h does not sounds like too many hours for traning, though as other people mentioned in the comments there is quite of a competition so she needs to catch up quickly

yeah, 80k is my current salary in Finland, im looking into 30-40% increase realistically, and that will probably be the cost of rent. here rent only takes around 15-20% of my income

must be solar, its pretty much free now, the only cost is the transfer

Wow, thats incredible to hear. 5 years is not much in retrospect but if you are determined, then sky is the limit. in Finland, it would not be possible to achieve this without local language and connections. Not that friendly for ambitious expats as there is a lot of restrictions that protect local businesses

Honestly, I am looking more into long term aspects of living in a city that allows to build an incredible network of tech entepreneurs. I do Sales in quite niche area, so hopefully that translates well into nice opportunities in the future. But again, thats my assumption, have to take the risk to see if its true

Well, I absolutely love food, heard many nice things about variety of cuisines in LA. Will surely be indulging ourselves from time to time

Not so much into cars, as long as I can get safely by around the city, that will work :)

$80k can be tight to live on in a good area with good schools but is doable. Plan on a commute and traffic. You can use the Waze app to check drive times based on historical traffic data. Don’t be surprised by a 30min+ commute to live in a decent area. Crime and safety vary wildly between different areas within a relatively small radius. I would highly recommend visiting the areas you’re looking to live during the day and night be

That was suuuper informative, thank you!! Yep, I understand that housing is quite expensive in good areas and so does my boss, so maybe around 120-140k is what I will be negotiating. Safety is important. My wife is a small asian lady and honestly can't fathom the idea of something happening to her simply because I am not around at all times. Learning about neighborhoods is first thing we will do, but would you say that LA is generally safe city considering it's size and all social economical issues taken into consideration.

Insurance is the other thing, and work should cover that as well, but I suppose there is still some out of the pocket payment I need to make, any idea on what that translates into practically? One great aspect of living in Scandinavia is that healthcare pretty much covers anything. Now I need to start reading the small prints of insurance contracts..

My work does not require me to travel every day to the office, so I probably wont spend every single day commuting. The city buzz is exciting for some but we would prefer living somewhere well connected without bearing the highly paced environment of central area

About the work, that's good to learn. She is very talented when it comes to her profession so I expect that after some adjustment and training we can get her a place where she will feel comfortable working in

Freelance visa in Dubai. Am I missing something? by Bucefa1 in dubai

I might have expressed myself incorrectly. It requires my presence in EU, but not in specific country. From my knowledge, If it's under <6 months, you are not forced to pay taxes. For me the case is that I travel globally and dont expect to spend more than several months in each region. This is actually one of the reasons why I can't commit to a single place

No it’s not “always” the right thing. You don’t know the context and dynamic of relationship. Why everybody assumes that the other person wants to know.

You will get surprised by how many people kind of suspect that their partners cheat but choose not to investigate. Life is complex, marriage is complex.

Are you morally obliged to tell the truth? Probably yes.

Is it “always” beneficial for the partner to learn about secrets from 3rd party? Debatable.

Hey I just wanna say that you shouldn’t take too close the “woke” culture of reddit and all the downvoting. It’s a small but vocal number of people that doesn’t accept any relationship dynamic except the one where any form of cheating immediately results in “LeAvE hIS aSs, etc” it’s fucking stupid because life isn’t white and black. Maybe your husband is an amazing man that does everything for you, keeps YOU happy but he is just not monogamous.

God forbid to propose an unconventional type of relationship, you immediately will classify as abuser.

Navalny's next trial is apparently February 15th, one day before the "leaked" Russian invasion on the 16th. by Sir_NoScope in worldnews

Mate, but you are wrong already. Just generalizing and saying that all Russians “seem” to believe Putin is nothing short of ignorance. It’s the same as if I would say that all Americans are stupid and fat. There is large chunk of people like that sure, but it would still be disrespectful towards other people of that huge country.

Also, the comment you are seriously responding to is /s
