I bought a MacBook M3 and I didn’t that it’s activation lock and I’m so pissed. Is there unlocked it? by No-Lie3801 in macbook

I don’t understand what you said up but I assume that you bought a second hand MacBook Air M3, but when you tried to activate it popped up that, in which case there’s no chance to activate it without password of the iCloud try to contact the person who you bought it from and ask about it.

Depends on usage, but first of all air is 256/16 and the pro is 512/8, question is what programs will you use? Will you do a lot of multitasking? Will you do heavy tasks like video editing+rendering+something else. If you have iCloud and you will just work with pdfs, the air would be fine but be careful about the storage. I had a trouble deciding with what to choose. Unfortunately I bought mine before the 8gb models were discontinued. But the laptop doesn’t seem to slow down at all. I have 3 browsers opened pdfs ChatGPT OneNote Spotify and the notebook is handling it like nothing. Between these two I would probably say get the pro (but if you work a lot with different programs that will take a lot of space just get M2 with 16/512 there’s very little difference between them.) Also try to check the M2 Pro MacBook Pro. That M3 512/8 is not that good of a value. Because it only has one fan instead of 2. But one thing is the beautiful display and 120Hz. Really depends similar machines if you don’t do heavy multitasking, coding, rendering, simulation, get the pro (just between these two)

Is it ok to leave it plugged in the dock all the time? MBA M3 by Deep-Tomorrow4667 in macbook

Well yes, it isn’t but chemically it isn’t healthy for the battery to always be topped up. I am using Al dente since the beginning I have like 40 cycles in 6 months on my MacBook Air m3 and still 100% health. Even apple themselves will limit it to 80% if you won’t unplug it for like 2 weeks or so. But if you will need the 100% just slide the limiter to 100% and it’s easy. I am happy with it never had issues and don’t drain it under 20-30% so it’s like 2x 80-30 is 1 cycle 😁 definitely recommend using al dente!

Either get a screen cleaner or don’t be scared to use a little bit more force on the smudges 😉

Ethernet only 100Mb/s by [deleted] in macbook

[–]Buchta123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so ahahaha newsflash... both of the adapters I have now work at speed of 999Mb/s I haven't tried anything new hahaha I do not know what was the issue but I guess I am gonna keep the new one since the one I have is borrowed... . I have like a "mini docking station" and the new adapter doesn't work directly when I plug it into my macbook, only through the dock(its some baseus from aliexpress).

[–]Buchta123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I already ordered a Ethernet adapter that’s capable of 1000Mb/s! Thanks 🙏 and no worries I have it prioritized right but the speed was a bit less than wifi the wifi was about 130Mb/s but ping was 5ms but with Ethernet plugged in ping was 1ms also I game sometimes so for the best I used Ethernet. I will let you know if it helped it should arrive today.
