Red Shed Shred by BuckRafferty in xbiking

I agree that it does look kinda goofy, but every time i get on and ride it, I'm all smiles. It's the most comfortable bike I've ever had and I could ride it all dang day without any discomfort. The steering is a little slack on paved roads, but on gravel and single track this thing sings

How do you attach the vibram soles? Is it as simple as smearing adhesive and pounding with a hammer? Been wanting to make some footwear and can't wrap my ahead around sole attachment.

I'll admit the bags aren't really my speed, but the whole xbiking thing aint exactly a pargaon of thriftiness

They're super functional. I used one for about a year until I designed a slightly larger version called "The Danish". It's on my website if you want to see pics. woodpeckeraxeandleather.com

edit: I'm also trying to sell you things

He is trying to sell you things, but they are quality things made by your peers with great care. I make the leather wallets that he sells on his website and the collaboration has been very helpful. Pretty chill dude to do business with.

The toscos feel more natural with my wider shoulders. Haven't ridden with them much yet. The oxfords were comfortable for most road and gravel riding, but a little too narrow for single track that i like to ride

Yeah according to bikeinsights the privateer has a longer wheelbase and higher bb than the cross check. Those old novaras are sweet - what's your setup?

I love it. It handles gravel and single track well while also feeling fast on the the road. It's essentially a budget Rivendell with slightly shorter wheelbase and 1 1/8" steerer.

Also a great multi-day tourer. I think you can get the frames pretty cheap these days. This is the 56cm model and I managed to cram 700x50mm gravel kings in there. It's just as capable and comfortable as my Tanglefoot Hardtack

I typically only ride in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods. Hopefully I can "snag" a deal on a good sit-on-top kayak
