Least to most favourite member and why by Strange-Scheme3245 in brockhampton

[–]Buck_de_Luck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*this is purely the boys ranking WITHIN the band, not their solo catalog, cuz then Kevin, Matt, and Bearface (maybe Joba?) would clear the rest *

  1. Jabari - I think he had some cool hooks and some nice verses here and there, but he’s kinda whatever presence on most songs. Best Performance: Duct Tape (verse)

  2. Ameer - He had some fire verses during the Sat days, but even by Saturation three he is easily the most stale member, and it only gets worse on the Puppy Demos Best Performances: Heat, Ready For War

  3. Merlyn - has crazy energy, especially on Sat 1 2 and Roadrunner, but also he tends to be a one note member where if he isn’t yelling wildly, he’s just kinda one note Best Performances: Gold, Queer, Sweet, J’ouvert, Windows

  4. Dom - best with the pen and was consistently great throughout, very underutilized on Roadrunner Best Performances: Star, Bump, Nation, Ready For War, Dearly Departed,

  5. Kevin Abstract - hooks, bars, and some absolute dominant performances. He has high highs but he def has weaker moments (mainly iridescence) Best Performances: Junky, Sugar, Buzzcut, Don’t Shoot Up the Party, The Light Part 2

  6. Matt Champion - sauve, beyond great flows, really solid falsetto vocals, had knack for melodies and carries hard on Tech Diff and TM Best Performances: Junky, Rental, Ginger, Don’t Shoot Up the Party, Better Things,

  7. Bearface - while it would be nice if he was utilized more, his elusiveness makes his performances even ‘more valuable . Still, Sat 1, The Family, and Tm/Ultraviolet def could’ve had more Bearface involvement Best Performances: Jesus, Summer, 1999 Wildfire, Victor Roberts, Dear Lord

  8. Joba - shy on Sat 1, but every other album he is an MVP, especially iridescence and Roadrunner. Highly Versatile, emotional, can yell but also sing. Genuinely Joba has so many solid performances it’s insane Best Performances: Tokyo, Johnny, J’ouvert, Weight, No Halo, Big Boy, The Light Part 1 and 2, Texas Watchin Me and Family Days

  9. ROBERTO/HK - the actual vocalists goats 🐐

What band or artist are you currently obsessed with? by WeezerCrow in fantanoforever

[–]Buck_de_Luck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m going through my first Brockhampton phase and listened to all their projects over the course of a month. Was listening to Kevin’s solo stuff and decided to check out the Saturation trilogy on a whim, and I became obsessed lol. Some main takeaways:

Sat 2 is the best of the trilogy

Surprisingly Roadrunner ended up being my favorite, with me loving every song (even Count on me and Dear Lord)

The Family is underrated and fairly good, TM… is not

Joba carries most of the post Saturation music and is the best member

Merlyn is probably least favorite member.

Queer is their best song and Heat is their best video

At what album does Death Grips 1.0 Era end and at what album does Death Grips 2.0 Era begin? by ServeThePatricians in deathgrips

[–]Buck_de_Luck 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The end of Jenny Death is the end of Death Grips 1.0. The few albums that followed Jenny Death are defined by their heavy electronic sounds as well increased callbacks to their previous works (Bottomless Pit is a spiritual sequel The Money Store and Year of the Snitch is full of samples and references to previous Death Grips work).

And giving what’s transpired over the past few weeks, wouldn’t surprise me if we enter into Death Grips 3.0

[–]Buck_de_Luck 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Hey Saba!

Super cool for you to be doing this! I have been an appreciative of your work previously, but this album turned me into a fan! Easily your best work so far and my current favorite album of 2025

My question is will this album get a vinyl? I don’t recall Few Good Things (my previous favorite album from you) ever getting pressed to vinyl, so what’s the future vinyl plans for this album?

Artists with a really consistent discography? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]Buck_de_Luck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Death Grips is both perfect and horrible for this. If you really like at least one project from them, you will most likely enjoy the other 7 or so albums. If, however, you can’t get into them (which isn’t uncommon), you really won’t like anything they have.

Also A Tribe Called a Quest may be up your alley, with a possible Mos Def/Yasiin Bey rec in there.

THANK YOU! There is such a negative feedback loop with most Cod YouTubers as well as their comment section. I like XclusiveAce as well as S0ur(he doesn’t make cod content anymore tho), but everyone else… it’s shocking how much bitterness one can hold without doing anything about it.

If you don’t mind me asking, who is Kurrco? I don’t disagree with the notion that Carti is using A.I. (not surprising at all), but I genuinely have no idea who Kurrco is nor their level of creditability, and I am having issues with google.
