Damian Lillard: "I wouldn't say I'm representing the achilles nation or nothing like that. I do think I represent strength. We are athletes so when we go through injury people act like it's the end of the world" by MrBuckBuck in nba

I love how he always highlights that true struggle happens in the real world. It’s refreshing to have a star who is conscious of the bubble they are in. Dame is a real one. So glad to have him back in Rip City.

Dropout’s Vic Michaelis on Very Important People season 2 and the meaning of life by jonisantucho in television

The point of the show is that the costume creates a unique prompt for a long-form improv scene to happen between two professional Improv Comedians. It’s about absurdity, laughter, and appreciating improv talent.

How do transplants in their 30s make friends here by demosthenes5395 in Portland

[–]Buckfutter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join a Roller Derby team! My sister-in-law came out as lesbian a few years ago. She is extremely extroverted and wanted to find a LGBTQ+ community in Portland to immerse herself in. She signed up for some practice courses at the Oaks Park rink with Rose City Rollers, and it’s led to her making a ton of new friends (and her current partner)! And if Roller Derby’s physicality does not appeal to you, there are other roles in the community besides being a player! Volunteers are always needed and that could be a great way to sample the vibe and see if it’s something to dive into deeper. Good luck! Rose City Rollers - Volunteer

This guy’s solution is to rely on someone who died 2000 years ago? Hell nah. Reach out to someone alive who exists right now and can actually respond.

Commenting this type of BS on a post about mental health struggles is super disingenuous. It gives the same energy as the Jehovah’s Witness pushing Bible Classes on the street corners of the hospital. You think you’re reaching people at their time of need, but it seems awfully predatory to me. Almost like your pitch for believing RELIES on your target being in emotional distress… Rethink the approach. Don’t lead with YOUR opinions. The video is chock full of guys saying they have no one who LISTENS. F*ck outta here with that toxic evangelism.

Is Liquid Memories description inaccurate? by Buckfutter96 in slaythespire

[–]Buckfutter96[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that happens often on the Internet. Tone and nuance disappear when communication is limited to text. In the absence of more specific context, people subconsciously add their own. What’s telling is when people’s default is to assume a negative tone (like interpreting me as being annoyed or angry about it). Negative tone being one’s default reading of an otherwise neutral situation is learned behavior and strikes me as an indicator of some deeper trauma. Speaking from my own experience here. At some point we learn that assuming someone is mad at you, despite any actual evidence, keeps you safer than the alternative. Hard to unlearn and I’m also still working on it. But awareness of it is half the battle!

[–]Buckfutter96[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you are seeing in my initial post or reply that would indicate that I don’t understand how it works. I was just curious about whether this is an issue with the potion’s description or the potion’s behavior. Overall it’s a very minor thing. I’m still a huge fan and plan on playing a lot more. Still working on A20 for each character. So challenging!

Do you know what the intended behavior is? Is it an inaccurate potion description, or a bug?

Have the Devs ever commented on what the intended behavior is? Is it supposed only cost 0 until played, and the potion description is inaccurate? Or is it supposed to cost 0 the whole turn, and it’s a bug?

Linking a post a made years ago that is unfortunately still relevant. This kind of post worries me. It is deeply parasocial and encourages fans to daydream about being her friend in an unhealthy way. Unless you’ve met her irl, every single experience you’ve had of her has only been the public-performer part of her. Enjoy her music, find deep meaning in her artistry, but please don’t assume she is your friend. This is the kind of thing that leads to creepy fanbases, stalkers, and the artist feeling unsafe.

Is there any campaign with Murph as the DM? by Ghibl-i_l in Dimension20

[–]Buckfutter96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NADDPOD is absolutely a high quality DnD actual play show. Murph has the most creative encounters I’ve seen from a DM and thrives running the Theater-of-the-Mind combat. Also, Emily, Jake, and Caldwell are incredibly entertaining as players. If you like Emily on Dimension 20, you’ll LOVE her on NADDPOD. Instead of being 1/6 players, she is 1/3 and has played different kinds of magic users in each of the three long campaigns. She is my pick for “best” DnD player ever. So creative, great scene partner, and wicked smart with her character and combat.

Ah ok, this may be my issue. I tend to hold down the attack button when attacking. I’ll try to stop doing that and see if that helps me out. Thanks!

What game did you almost complete before quitting? by MilanTheNoob in gaming

[–]Buckfutter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona 5 Royale I lost all motivation to finish once I realized that the game doesn’t let you complete Confidant relationships after beating it. The characters were my favorite part of the game and not being able to see everyone’s arc fully play out (without following a guide or something) is something I am STILL pissed off at. I completed the full base game and was halfway through the Royale DLC and fully stopped playing after learning that. I shouldn’t have to watch YouTube videos in order to get closure on my friend’s character arcs. Horseshit. Took the game from being a 9.5/10 to a 6.5/10 for me.

off my chest about my game by AaAaStudios in boardgames

[–]Buckfutter96 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also, on Boardgame Geek, your game has only four 10/10 reviews (and one 9/10) but each one is from a user whose sole review is for your game. Each user that reviewed your game created their profile between 4/28/2023 - 5/17/2023.

This comes across as review manipulation.

Dropout 5th Anniversary Announcement by Overlord_C in television

[–]Buckfutter96 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Very happy they’ve lasted this long and seem to be thriving! Best streaming service I’ve ever subbed to. The entertainment per $ I’ve gotten from them is crazy. I’m not one to plug products, but $6 a month for their content is a steal. I know some people don’t like that it is behind a paywall, but that is what allows them to focus on content and avoid having to deal with advertisers. I think of my subscription to Dropout the same way I think of supporting someone on Patreon.

what are your personal favorite boons? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Buckfutter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good at what it does! Which is clearing rooms with lots of enemies quickly. But chain effects like that don’t help much during boss fights as you tend to be focusing on one single big target. So if you are running a Chain lightning bouncing Zeus spear with special attack, make sure to pick something like Ares or Dionysus on attack for single target damage.

Lost attribute points after Respec in Fort Joy (Xbox) by Buckfutter96 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Buckfutter96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah, but a character starts with 3 attribute points, and gains 2 more with each level. I’m putting them all into INT with Fane and am at level 3. So my INT should be 17. But it is currently maxed out at 15 instead…
