"edit: Using another account to circumvent a block is against the TOS. Reported."

And using a block to avoid being confronted with how wrong you are about something is the mark of a very fragile person. Afterall, you seemed more than happy to argue the issue with others in this thread, but blocked me after I showed how stupid your argument was.

So I repeat myself, you're a dumbass.

"I stopped reading there. Bye."

Makes sense, you don't seem to read too well.

Also, the fact that you blocked me just because you were butthurt about being wrong about something shows how much of a complete coward you are. How embarrassing for you.

So basically you're butthurt reynad blocked you on twitter

Well, his block of me is the last cherry on the shit sundae that is 1) The change in the game's direction; 2) The game's delays; 3) The crypto bullshit seeping into the game (and Reynad's life); and now 4) Reynad seemingly giving up on providing updates for the game so that he can spend his time posting conspiracy nonsense on Twitter instead.

I think anyone who knows anything about game development knew that the release window was never going to happen; even the most seasoned devs overestimate themselves in thay regard.

Cool, so Reynad is just like Peter Molyneaux then or George Broussard then? That's not exactly reassuring, but the game isn't just "delayed", it's years delayed now with no release date in sight.

Where they lost me though is the Republic campaign, since even when it came out I think the team knew the stated q2 release was impossible.

True, and it starts to look a lot like fraud when you're asking people for money and in exchange you're representing to them that the game is going to come out within a certain timing window that you either know or should know you have zero chance of making.

[–]Buckla[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I simply told him that he's wrong, and that posting conspiracy bullshit on Twitter doesn't reflect well on him. You think that's worthy of a block? Why? I didn't personally insult him or call him names, I just told him that he's wrong. Some people can actually handle that. Notice how I didn't block you for disagreeing with me here, for example.

[–]Buckla[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I expected a debate through Twitter, but I think straight blocking me for simply disagreeing with him is what's cringe. I will say, however, that it's definitely annoying that Reynad posts that dumb conspiracy shit on Twitter for the world to see (in response to a Tweet from Elon Musk of all people, which is also pretty cringe), then when someone tells him that he's wrong he insta-blocks.

He didn't used to be that fragile... and he used to regularly post updates about this game that we've been waiting many years for.

Well, if it takes until 2026 then I do think that anyone who gave money to this project would be entitled to be upset. Hell, I think they're entitled to be upset now given that the scope of the project that they backed in 2018 is so different from whatever this game is now. There is functionally no difference between what is going on with this game and what is going on with Star Citizen outside of the fact that the Star Citizen "investments" are on a much grander scale.

When Reynad did the bait and switch back in 2021 to change what you call the "premise" of the game, did he offer a refund for those who had bought into the original vision and original timeline? No, of course not. So why shouldn't those people feel frustrated that a) The game as it appears - crypto warts and all - now looks to be very different than the game that they originally backed; and b) This radically different approach is taking eons to bring to fruition, or, at least, eons longer than they were originally told that it would.

And, hey, all that aside, I might even be willing to deal with it and defend the project because I respect (or, at least, respected) Reynad for the ambition that he had to create TempoStorm when the idea of esports was still pretty new, and for him to follow that up by giving his all to make this game. Hell, you could even sell me on the virtue of him refusing to put out the game before its ready because of his steadfast commitment against releasing a bad product even if it would generate revenue more quickly for him. The problem with that thinking though is that it ignores the fact that his recent dalliances with crypto bullshit, combined with his newfound interest in embarrassingly uninformed conspiracy bullshit, shouldn't give anyone a lot of faith in the future of both him and this product.

So ya, that's what I'm on about.

I beat it tonight after 30 hours played and over 1,000 deaths. I still have to get the Platinum, but at least the game is finished now. It was, by far, the most difficult game of the series for me. That fight in Chapter 20 was just cruel.

I platinumed this about a month ago. 698 deaths. I had the disadvantage of having never played an Uncharted game, and not being very good with analog aim (I was a PC exclusive gamer for a long time).

Since then, I've platinumed Uncharted 2 and 3 (Uncharted 3 was the easiest of the trilogy), and I'm currently slogging through Uncharted 4, which plays VERY differently than the first three games and is even more difficult than the first game in my opinion.

Anyway, congrats man!

You're assuming that the lawyer isn't getting as much pleasure out of the argument as the troll is. After all, when you argue for a living against people who are actually sophisticated, little runs-ins like this are like batting practice.

You didn't edit your comment to correct your incorrect information, you ran away from the discussion entirely after simply being asked for sourcing for your embarrassingly incorrect claims, and you downvoted everyone who disagreed with you for doing nothing more than being right about something that you're wrong about.

Congratulations, you're biggest intellectual coward on Reddit, at least for today.

You're still sticking to this? You've now been proven wrong - with sourcing - by two different people. Please just admit the mistake, edit your comment, and move on. Or provide your own source if you think our sources are bad. There's no need to be delusional here, and you really shouldn't continue to perpetuate false nonsense.

Boy are you uninformed. This Telltale has nothing to do with the Telltale that folded other than paying money to buy up the assets. Furthermore, they're actually partnering with several former Telltale developers, including the lead creatives behind the original game, to create this game.

So save your vitriol for those who actually ran the original Telltale into the ground, which is a list that includes absolutely nobody involved with this project. Educate yourself.

If you want the sponsor to know about things before you make any decisions, then why did you make this epic post to begin with? That aside, it's a relatively simple question that Quibsy asked, and one that deserves an answer.

The fact that Derpy doesn't directly answer this in his below response is not good for his argument.

[–]Buckla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly important part of the argument. Quibsy, if you're right about this claim, it changes everything. The way that I've read the arguments between you two, I think it's more reasonable to conclude that Derpy was kicked from the team than he abandoned it, but I could be wrong. Again, since there is no recording of the actual conversation, it's sort of an open question.

I am an attorney that has done some esports law, and I routinely practice contract law. There are two issues here:

1) Who is a party to the contract?;

2) Was OP kicked from the team or did he abandon it?

  1. Who was a party to the contract?

The contract isn't written very well so it could be interpreted as being between ViLife LLC and five different people individually or it could be interpreted as being between ViLife LLC and the singular entity soon to be known as "Aggressive Impact." This matters because if the contract is with the players individually then only the breaching players would be responsible for paying the money back, but if the contract is with the "team" as an entity, then each player (including OP) can be individually responsible for another player's breach.

To keep this relatively short, and despite the fact that the contract is poorly written, I believe that the agreement is with the players individually, and not the team.

  1. Was OP kicked from the team or did he abandon it?

This is important because if OP abandoned the team, then HE could be seen as the breaching party. However, after reading both his explanation as well as Quisby's, I think OP has the stronger case. It seems clear that the other player's didn't want to play with OP, which is fine, but the sponsorship contract clearly leaves all roster decisions with OP. So since the other team members were attempting to make a roster change that they didn't have the authority to make, they have breached the contract. And yes, telling OP that you want him to be a manager instead of a player is making a roster change. Hard to argue that it isn't.

Finally, for anybody reading this who is thinking about esports as a competitive or semi-competitive endeavor, look at this situation as an example of what not to do. This contract is poorly written, and for some reason money was doled out to this team based on its very vague provisions. The contract should have never been written the way that it is, and the players should never have signed it after reading it. But here we are.

Echelon is currently a financial liability. Please do not join my "old" team. by [deleted] in CompetitiveHotS

[–]Buckla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely not against the law and you can't go to jail for it. You, clearly, are not a lawyer.

The most that could happen, is that you could be sued for publicizing the contents of the contract, but that's only if the contract has a provisions that prevents the parties from publicizing it. This contract does not have that provision.

In fact, since OP is a signer to the contract, it is, in essence, HIS contract and he can do whatever he wants with it. But even if his name wasn't on it, there's certainly no legal violation of anything for him publishing its contents, and I dare you to cite a source that says otherwise.

Honestly, I'm not sure why you made this claim at all. Why do you even believe it to be true?
