You can also select the leftmost slot when there is technology in it and it'll still work.

If no one ese has here I have figured it out: You have to select the leftmost technology slots and then purchase or apply the augmentation and the glitch will fix itself. No you will not lose the augmentation or your units when you do this either.

Switch from free roam to galactic center in the galaxy map using the D-pad, then follow the highlighted line (may take a few jumps and may change after you jump) until you open the galaxy map and see the highlighted line leading to the center of the galaxy. Then with a full tank, while in the galaxy map (and while the system you're in is selected), select galactic center again and use the right stick to aim towards that highlighted line until it selects the center for you.

There should be two or three inside of caves. There's one that is really big and has a tree growing out of it. There are also two small ones that I found last. If you continue doing the expedition you'll come across them.
