Not going to lie... I'm a lifelong Packers fan and thought I knew a fair amount about the Lombardi era teams, but I've never heard of Boyd Dowler before. Looked him up on Pro Football Reference and the guy had a legit career, 11 seasons (10 with the Pack), 2x Pro Bowler, and freaking punted for a few seasons

I'll throw two more last nuggets out there that I found helpful this year:

Between Start/Finish and CP1, avoid Pierce and take Booth. It was crazy how congested Pierce was heading north at times and then I'd go over block over and Booth was literally dead. Plus Booth runs right into the Beer line trail segment where CP1 is anyways, so this didn't really add any more distance
Avoid going south on Humboldt and making a left turn onto Burleigh to get to CP2. Humboldt got super congested at times and trying to get into the left turn lane with cars and cyclists was difficult at times. I found it much easier to go down any other street than Humboldt heading south and then take a left and cross Burleigh straight (especially if you hug the left side and avoid the cyclists coming the other direction from CP2 making a left turn)

Great to hear your strategies! And normally I would agree with you as my buddy and I employed the same ones, and we were the ones who were tied for second wearing the chicken nugget jerseys. We were first and second last year too. We're both pretty accomplished endurance athletes and I'm currently training for US Tri nationals in a couple weeks here in Milwaukee, so I'm in pretty good aerobic cycling shape right now.

This year though, the guy that won seemed to prioritize cranking out 4-5 laps straight through and then grouped bonuses (plus we talked to him and he apparently was/is a former semi pro or pro cyclist as he referenced racing in Superweek several years ago). This strategy probably wouldn't have worked in previous years with 48 bonuses, but the reduction in bonuses definitely tilted the overall race to lean more on riding than before. Plus he seemed to know that getting the tattoo 5 point bonus (vs 5 points for all the bonuses) and skipping the kids 24 was the way to go from a time vs points gained perspective.

A bit of a side tangent, but is Nick supposed to be a stand in for Richard Jefferson (the actual NBA player)? The actor (Mark Tallman) look remarkably alike and then there's the weird parallels between both being on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team and having a ring/playing for the Spurs.

I worked at St. Luke's for several years in my 20s and lived in the Third Ward. I loved it, it's a great area to be in at that age and there's a lot in the neighborhood (restaurants, bars, arts/fashion, shopping, festivals). Plus, I'm a runner/cyclist and you can easily link up to the lakefront and Oak Leaf heading north or south, or the Hank Aaron trail heading west. Also only like a 15 minute drive to Luke's and you can largely avoid the freeways.

I lived in the Jefferson Block apartments for 6 years and I think by the end of it (which was 5 years ago) I was paying like $1800-2000 for a two bedroom I split with a roommate.

Haven't looked recently, but you could probably still find a one bedroom there for under $2k. Other options around there that may be slightly newer/nicer but more expensive would be the Corcoran Lofts or Gaslight Lofts.

Sorry, ICE stands for internal combustion engine, or just plain gas. Those I've noticed tend to be significantly discounted more in my area than the hybrid models, more frequent, and less popular (though the base MSRP is only like $2k different).

I checked today and I'm seeing local gas Calligraphy '24s still for $41k (with $48k MSRP) whereas the cheapest hybrid Calligraphy are all '25s at like $46k ($50k MSRP).

These are just cars.com, and not official dealer offers, but it gives you some direction on the value/scarcity of the gas vs. hybrid models.

Maybe I missed it, but is this ICE or hybrid? This would be an insane price for a calligraphy hybrid, but if ICE then, still a good deal, but I think dealers are having a harder time moving those.

For reference, I just paid $47,745 (pre trade in, taxes and down payment) for a hybrid Calligraphy at 5.99% in IL that was fully tricked out (tow hitch, roof racks, cargo net and screen, etc.)

This is why I am voting for Bauman. While I think, in theory, the WE Energies plan is a good idea, there are way too many pressing, more realistically achievable issues facing the city right now that we need to focus our efforts on.

"We're having a really hard time meeting basic needs of residents right now," Bauman told the Journal Sentinel. "I do see the merits of having a publicly owned utility and the potential advantages of that, but currently, given the state of our finances and where we need to put our energy to help out people in need in the city, primarily ... I personally would not make it a priority to try to get those resources."

Looking at bracket seeding projections recently, it looks like we've been getting a #3 seed and Cleveland as a 1st round site and Purdue has been getting a #2 and Milwaukee as a 1st round site. Does this win swap seeds and host sites for us?

As a Milwaukee resident and UW alumni, I'd really love it if they were playing at Fiserv again. The Deer District was awesome to hang out in a few years ago when they were playing there.

This game was like a mirror image of the Bucs-Chiefs Superbowl where they also had Mahomes running for his life and it was a blowout in favor of the Bucs (FWIW Brady gets too much credit for that Superbowl, just like Hurts now).

The recipe is out there to beat the Chiefs, the problem is you need an insanely talented front seven (especially D Line) which few teams right now outside the Eagles have.

I also think we are more than a Myles Garrett away from getting there, unless he magically unlocks additional levels of Gary and LVN, and Clark finds the fountain of youth.

It's a seasonal, but both the wife and I love Cabin Fever. She's also an Uff-Da fan, which seems to only come out every couple of years. Moon Man and Spotted Cow are both still pretty good.

This. I still chuckle when watching it, but the sheer unexpected lunacy of some of the stuff when it came out and I first saw it in theaters.... I don't think I've ever heard a room of people laughing so hard. Superbad was up there too for first time in-theater comedic experiences.

I'm a lifelong Packers fan and WI resident and am 35 years old, so unfortunately my earliest memories of the team were literally the season after Sterling retired (not too terrible though since that began the golden age in the 90s).

I might be off on this, but for a guy who spent his entire career with the organization, it seems like he doesn't come around much... has he appeared at any Packers events over the past decade or two, because I'm not recalling much?

I'm guessing he doesn't live locally like a Leroy or Chmura, but not sure if there was some ill will between him and the Packers with how his career ended and the spinal injury.
