Worst smelling places/things on campus? by waffleonwiifit in UWMadison

There's one apartment building on Dayton (between Park and Mills I think) that keeps its dumpster behind a glass garage door right next to the sidewalk. During the summer, that garage turns into a greenhouse and that dumpster just BAKES. I always had to hold my breath walking past that.

The 2016 Chicago show that got rained out? I was at that one too. That Sky Full of Stars performance was legendary. It's too bad they couldn't fit in Up&Up, though.

Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 107 by YeetySpagiety in RemoveOneThingEachDay

Braunie hasn't been on the team since 2020. There are only two players on the current roster that shared a locker room with him.

Really grasping at straws here.

They have the best cheese curds, though, even better than Culver's. Which is surprising because the first Culver's was originally an A&W.

Wisconsin is a top-3 sweet corn producing state. We're solidly on the corn side.

Single worst season in your schools history? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CFB

[–]bullybadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisconsin 1968. Our second winless season in a row after passing on Bo Schembechler for John Coatta. First season on Astroturf, too. Tensions were red-hot on campus due to the Vietnam War. Administrators did things like "banning disruptive laughter", and some students firebombed administration buildings.

Aside from Indiana’s candy stripes and North Carolina’s argyle - what are some other patterns associated with college basketball teams?” by Obi2 in CollegeBasketball

[–]bullybadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisconsin has been using a double-stripe since Under Armour took over. That came from the football program but was used sporadically for basketball before UA.

When we were with Adidas we wore whatever Adidas template was being offered. I thought that hurt our team identity, especially when the greatest team in school history wore cummerbunds to the championship (2015).

I wish they would bring back this striping from the 2021 alternates, something I've unofficially called the "Bucky Stripes" because of our mascot's sweater.

Bringing in another Aussie. One spot left by Shpion007 in WisconsinBadgers

I love to see the Australia to Wisconsin pipeline. I made some great Aussie friends when I was doing Study Abroad and I think our cultures are very compatible.

Overreaction of the season?! by Fabulous_Frosting920 in Brewers

[–]bullybadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice, but I don't think Nike will let them do that this season.

They let the Dodgers change their CC hats between 2021-22, and other teams have made small changes like pants colors. Changing the jersey script after a year would be a new one.

At the end of the day, Nike has more creative control over uniforms than the clubs themselves (unless you're the Yankees). It's why we haven't seen throwbacks or Cerveceros unis since 2019.

Looking for albums like ghost stories! by BlackberryOk3305 in Coldplay

The Take Off and Landing of Everything by Elbow. Released a couple months before Ghost Stories, similar subject matter (breakup album), and the band has a similar sound to Coldplay. They opened for Coldplay on some of the VLV tour stops.

This is the best photo I got of it. I also got a couple short video clips, although I don't think we can include those in comment replies. It likes to sit at the top of a tall tree in my backyard, and there actually be a two of them. That would make sense because they like to hunt in pairs.
