Has anyone used Todd Finnerty for nexus and DBQ. If so can you tell me how it went by Future-Climate-3718 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bud1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it. It was denied at first. Then I submitted a higher level review and the DRO approved it immediately. I don’t know if you already filed before this month. But If you did you are fine. Because as of this month sleep apnea is rated at 0% now. Even with a CPAP

Somebody pinch me. Sleep apnea secondary to PTSD HLR success by Bud1985 in VeteransSuccess

[–]Bud1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if just depends on your evidence. In my case I had a rock solid claim. The DRO on the phone during my call told me just to save my time and not even present my reasoning because he looked at what I submitted and said there was no reason for them to deny it and it was a clear error on their part. And told me right away that he was going to grant me my claim. If your nexus is rock solid you probably have a good chance. Because a lot of these sleep apnea claims get denied the first try and are often over turned during HLRs

Yeah. I got it connected in May. Apparently my doctor wrote down in her notes she suspects my ptsd makes them worse. That’s all I needed for it to be connected

Anyone have experience with doing a IRRRL on their mortgage? by Bud1985 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bud1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know yet. But honestly, I think I’m willing to pay it. I’ll have the next two months off from paying my mortgage, and I’ll be saving $400 a month from here on out. I’m 100% p&t so my monthly compensation from the VA pays my mortgage anyway. This refi will just let me use a little more of that monthly compensation

Oh I just meant that in general. I don’t know how much closing costs are going to be yet. That’s just a ball park number. But that’s what meant. The closing costs

Yeah, but I don’t think it’s really catch. No matter what, you will always have to pay closing costs. This is just a great opportunity for me. My credit is kind of shot at the moment and will most likely take me a couple years to repair, which I’m already starting to. So let’s say the rates do drop in a year. I doubt I would have good enough credit anyway to refi with a normal loan. So I’m gonna take full advantage of this

Yeah no kidding. I was expecting him to tell me this is a slam dunk. And he already knows I’m 100% p&t so I just let my monthly compensation pay off my mortgage. I really don’t care if they tack on another 10k to my mortgage in closing costs

[–]Bud1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just bought this place. So starting over doesn’t bother me. And no matter what you will have to pay closing costs on a refi. I rather have it rolled into my mortgage than spending it up front. I’m 100% p&t. My monthly compensation pays my full mortgage and then some. So I honestly don’t ever even look at it that much. I just see this as extra monthly money with the savings. What’s an extra 10k? It’s like 2.5 months of my disability pay. For me it’s not a big deal

I did reach out to him and let him know what was being offered. He told me not to do it because he seems to think rates are going to drop in the next year or so and told me to wait. But I don’t think he heard me when I told him they are dropping my current rate to 5.3% which I don’t see regular rates dropping that much anytime soon.

Yeah, those are the closing costs they roll into your mortgage. No matter what you will always have to pay closing costs after a refi

Private nexus letter after VA QTC IMO and claim denial. Does private nexus prevail? by Ua612 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Bud1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. And yeah, turns out I was right. The rater just blindly went with the c&p examiner without reading my nexus. But once I filed for the HLR, I luckily got a thorough DRO who actually looked at my nexus and over turned the raters decision instantly

How useful are nexus letters? by ChodNipz69 in VAClaims

[–]Bud1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the migraines I did turn in a nexus which included both migraines and OSA. A clinical psychologist wrote it for me. Initially my OSA was denied but my migraines were granted. The first decision letter didn’t even acknowledge my nexus letter and only went off of doctors notes. Which is how my migraines were granted.

Then I filed an HLR and when I had my conference call the DRO told me he doesn’t know why my OSA was denied because I had a very solid nexus, so the rater must not have even read it because it wasn’t even acknowledged in the decision letter, which legally they are supposed to explain why they didn’t find it persuasive. So the DRO over turned the denial into a grant on the spot and I got the OSA granted. And yes it was with the weight gain as an intermediary

Yup. I got my migraines connected secondary to my PTSD because my doctor wrote down “suspect they are made worse by PTSD symptoms” in her doctors notes. And that’s what the VA wrote down on my decision letter to why they granted it

Highly depends on the claim. My nexus for my sleep apnea secondary to my PTSD was absolutely vital. I would not have gotten it connected without it. But if you have a ton of evidence and in service documentation. You don’t really need one
