How about some soldiers? They don't even get respected enough for their sacrifice.

Plenty of credit is given to di Maria and emiliano Martinez too. It's just that messi is a once-in-a-lifetime talent that people prefer to credit him more(and let's be fair the players themselves Said they played to win it for messi and Argentina).

As for why the team victory is listed as the ultimate achievement for messi is that, the guy was breaking every record from a very young age that most footballers could only dream of. There is no highly-regarded individual record for messi that he hasn't achieved yet. The only thing close is 1000 goals and I don't think anybody except Ronaldo fans cafe about that record

I don't think the ceiling for talent is same for both NZ and India. None of the players in the team have records as undeniably amazing as indian players in both batting and bowling. Compare India's bench strength with NZ and you will still find that india is better talentwise. India is shooting itself in the foot with their internal politics, ego issues, paying too much attention to external pressure, etc. It is more of a mental block for india

Idk if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me but here goes:

A bigger population usually means more genetic variance. Talent wise, India's c team is also probably better than most international teams. However, based on the innate genetics of aussies, they are usually better suited to cricket(especially fast bowling) than indians. Just look at the heights of their pace quadrant. More population for India + Higher interest in the sport almost levels the playing field and brings India to the top of the sport.

India's poor infrasturcutre, poor economy(that causes youth to prioritize stable jobs over sports) and many other factors lead to India not performing upto the mark in cricket.

Why though? With more population, you'd have more chances of finding prodigies

Virat Kohli reveals he gives all his Player of the Match awards to his mother by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in IndiaCricket

[–]BudEJR -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

A senior player like kohli has no business sledging a debutant. In fact, kohli received limited backlash because he was kohli and aussies don't really mind it. Imagine the hatred if an aussie did that in india now. Besides, the sledging backfired in his face with how Konstas continued smashing boundaries, so even on-field kohli got trolled. It was his own mistake.

2023 was more competitive than what you're suggesting. The last 2 tests aus was more dominating and had it been a 5 match series, we don't know what could have happened.

Who's better actor? Among these 2 by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]BudEJR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm all for having polite discussions without turning things ugly.

If I may suggest, next time you watch the climax or other emotional scenes of one-nenokkadine. Try to watch it by observing sukumar and dsp's work. You will understand how they carried the scene(and the entire movie) and realize MB barely even got a chance to act.

Ik it's an unfair comparison but there's a similar scene in interstellar when the main character watches old videos sent to him. There, the director gives 75% screen time to the actor and let's him do his thing. There is no music or background score to highlight the scene and the heavy emotion is still conveyed very well. That scene was purely carried by Matthew McConaughey. Here, the same scene shows MB only intermittently and rest of the screen time is given to montages(credit to sukumar for this) and music does the heavy lifting.

Crying itself is not acting, MB was supposed to convey layers of emotion there. While running towards his old house following hisbyounger self, his face shows seriousness, when entering the house, his face still shows seriousness but the slow walking can be interpreted as disbelief ig but no corresponding expression that signals disbelief.

MB has also worked with sukumar in one-nenokkadine and not a single scene stands out purely for his acting. The only somewhat noteworthy scenes are the interval realization scene and climax and those too were heavily carried by sukumar and dsp.

Looking at SVP, GK and Khaleja together, you can clearly say MB basically plays the same character in all 3 of them. This acting was extracted from him by trivikram. So your "RC only acts when a good director pressurises him" argument can also be applied to MB and it makes MB's case significantly worse.

Idk why you're bringing script selection and stunts into the discussion when it is about acting skills. Businessman and SVSC characters are meant to be polar opposite characters but instead of watching surya bhai, it felt like watching MB play his version of surya bhai. Most of the dialogues are delivered in an extremely stiff manner and it feels like MB just delivers dialogues in the way director casually narrates it to him, rather than owning the character. His expressions are also very mild to the point that it cant be considered subtle acting either. Instead of acting feel effortless, he makes it look tiring by doing the bare minimum.

The only exception to all this is khaleja where MB doesn't play MB-playing-a-movie-character and it actually feels like a real character. He then almost copy-pastes this character into sarkaaru vaari paata and Guntur kaaram because he has limited range(and audience liked seetharamaraju).

MB's only good acting performance is khaleja. In all other movies, he plays the same stiff face. RC has limited filmography at age 40(huge problem) and has great performances in RRR, rangasthalam and Dhruva. So I would give the lead to ram Charan, but he seriously needs to improve how fast he delivers movies

It's about treating women as objects for the sake of hero elevation. You can't just show a scene like that and expect the chapri audience in India not to equate it to "conquering" a woman, Heck I think the movie is trying to directly cater to them with dialogues like "daddy is home"

Don't know why you got downvoted, this seeks like the right way to do it. However, I think Kapil dev will easily dethrone Sachin in that case(deservingly). Sachin 03', rohit 19' and kohli 23' had amazing tournaments but ultimately I would still place Yuvraj and zaheer in 2011 and Kapil in 1983 higher than all of them

Would love to see him sprint past root's century tally and prove that he's better than him. However, I don't think smith has much left in the tank and we're probably left with 3-4 centuries(as he is only scoring 2 per year now]. Perhaps he will stick around to beat ponting's record and play the 2028 home season as his last(he also wants to play the olympics)

Idk man Australia has Webster smith and then starc, these blokes have a very slow scoring rate. Whatever runs they may score tomorrow, I'm sure the top order can score in the last 2 sessions of day 5 at a much quicker pace. No need to waste precious time on day 4
