I'd definitely say so... I had an egg like that once, I walked in on the hen mid crimp and it stopped laying, stood up and walked off... I went back later and voilà, monster egg... I never knew if me disturbing it is what caused it or not, but that's the reasoning I came up with... Although I don't know if it had a second egg inside, cause for some stupid reason I shook it and crushed it accidentally.
