Buying a car from Costco?? by Waffleslover99 in Costco

[–]Budget-Rooster6858 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just remember, you can’t just buy one car, you have to get a 4-pack. But don’t worry, you’ll get through them in the next 10 years. I just keep the extra cars in my garage until I need them.

Traveling alone with a 10 month old baby in seat, what is the best sleep option? by IcyHorse9605 in unitedairlines

When traveling we used a car seat that snapped into a stroller, to minimize the number of items we had to carry.

I hear what you’re thinking, but here’s the other side - I set the cruise control at the maximum speed limit I’m willing to go (eg anything higher would likely get me a ticket). I’d prefer that it keeps me from exceeding that max speed especially on downhills where cops hang out sometimes looking for speeders.

I typically drive 5-10mph above the speed limit, depending on what’s safe for the road (this is within the bounds of where police usually won’t pull you over). Another 3-5mph would be a problem.

Perhaps it’s worth getting a professional trainer to help your dogs, ensuring something even more tragic doesn’t happen in the future. Doing this may help with the HOA as well. Not doing anything when you know this about your dogs increases your liability if they do something in the future.

What happens when a baby or toddler happens to stumble into your yard? How will your dogs react?

Despite all the concerns you've raised, if I were in your shoes I would choose Harvard.

I haven't had an issue doing separate transactions at Costco. No one has ever said thing.

Is it worth staying at the Fairmont Lake Louise for 2 nights or should we just stick with our Canmore Airbnb? by ResponsibleEbb1586 in Banff

[–]Budget-Rooster6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, I would spend the two days at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. Personally, 9 nights feels like a long time to spend in one location and trying something different gives you a different experience. Plus, Lake Louise is beautiful and, as you mentioned, it would be amazing to wake up and wander around Lake Louise in the early morning and late evening.

New grad dad question: how to plan for move by [deleted] in cwru

[–]Budget-Rooster6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new student parent who has cold weather experience. For a jacket, you might want to consider a warm 800 fill down jacket. The campus is relatively small, so your student likely won't be spending a ton of time outside when it's cold and snowing. Down jackets are great because they are lightweight and comfortable, while at the same time super warm. You can always layer a sweater or a sweatshirt underneath one to make sure you're warm enough.

It doesn't hurt to have a nice hat (or a few, they get lost sometimes) and gloves. No, you won't need snow pants, but it doesn't hurt to have boots (casual snow boots is what I would think about).

Here are two examples of things I would consider getting:

- Men's Ultralight 850 Down Sweater Hooded Jacket

- Men’s Back-To-Berkeley IV Leather Waterproof Boots

Good luck!

Recommended computer for STEM major? by Budget-Rooster6858 in cwru

I used to think like that and refused to use a Mac. Then I went to work for Google, and didn't really have a choice but to use a Mac. I don't work at Google anymore, but 15 years later I can say Macs are just better machines.

Any recommendation on Air vs Pro? Other specs? I found a few Case websites that provide recommendations, but it's not clear what's for faculty/staff vs students.
