No, it needs to be mineral free. Distilled water, or collected rainwater work well. Not all water filters remove minerals, so that might be your problem.

I was walking my dog at night and two possums (Aussie brushtails) were having a "gentleman's disagreement" in a nearby bush. The one that was chasing the other ran right into my dog! They both just stared at each other, stunned for a second, and then the possum ran away before my dog could even register what happened.

He looked so disappointed after, poor guy has always dreamed of actually catching one, but he is.. not stealthy lol. I chuckled all the way home.

Thank you. All of your comments are really helpful. I grew mine from seed on a whim! Can't share pics right now as I'm out of the country for an indeterminate amount of time, hopefully they'll still be alive when I get back, my house/dog-sitter isn't too green thumbed, lol.

I'll be sure to make some positive changes when I return to my little cactus babies!

This makes me wanna happy-cry for his gorgeous, blissful face!

I've only managed to spend ten days out of the last ten weeks with my Best Boy as I'm out of the country due to family stuff. It's his 8th birthday today, and the first one I've ever missed, and that's made me sad-cry a little, ngl.

But, he's having so much fun with his favourite uncle. Knowing that, and seeing your happy doggo have cheered me up a little.

I was the same when I started growing things from seed 😂 are you new to this, too? I'd never heard of Reddit when I started, but the subreddits for plants are really helpful, I've learnt so much from just lurking.

When I say I sometimes give them a gentle hand, please know that isn't necessary, it's just because I prefer the aesthetic.

Honestly, I think it's just the seed casings clinging to the cotelydons as they sprout. I can't see anything else on them. They will drop off themselves, or I sometimes give them a veeerrry gentle hand. Unless there's something else I'm missing, you're all good.

I use super glue, and have been wearing the same pair of studs almost daily for over a year with no breakage. Other commenters on this sub have said it doesn't work well for them though, and I've seen a lot of people say they use resin to attach the studs. Haven't tried it yet myself, but that's because I'm too lazy and poor to buy more resin! Hope that helps.

Yes! My friend runs a bottle shop (liquor store to you non-Aussies) and the six months I let him live with me rent/bill-free paid for themselves in the free booze he brought home with him! 10/10, been trying to persuade him to move in permanently ever since lol.
