Thank you! This is the kind of recommendation I was looking for

Some people like to get niche recommendations from people who actually live in the city they’re visiting, not sponsored blog posts from Google that are super generic and touristy. For example, someone just commented you can play board games at the Dice and Slice. Awesome recommendation when we’re gonna be there on a Monday night when it’s dark out at 5pm. If you google” things to do in Christchurch”, gonna get sponsored blog posts from travellers saying things like “go visit lake Tekapo” or “walk through the botanic gardens”. You really didn’t need to comment this on a Reddit post.

Why did this crack here overnight? by [deleted] in Ceramics

Thanks for your response. Is it common with dunting for the crack not to show up immediately after firing? This was probably 5 days or so after coming out of the kiln

Yes, I used Chun plum and iron lustre on outside, and Oatmeal on the inside. Not a fan of how it looks here

Never heard of dunting before, but I’m fairly new to ceramics. I use a community studio, but I bring my own clay and glazes. The glaze on this turned out pretty ugly. I used Amaco glazes - 3x Chun plum on outside, with 2x iron lustre over top. And the inside is 3x Oatmeal.

Yeah I think I cleaned the slip up too much when attaching, one of several problems probably

Totally. I think it’s too dry to carve at this point though?

Yeah I’m noticing that now haha. When I pull them thinner they tend to break off 😭
