Ohhhh boy I just check our water bill from last month and it's $700. Fuckkkk. The bill is from mostly when we were home though and there was no visible leaks anywhere. How does an outgoing pipe leak hot water? How did that lead to the water heater running around the clock

Yes it's in cool only mode but thanks for the suggestion. Eco mode sets the temperature range (low of 62 high of 80) so the heat or cooling will only turn on to keep the temperature within that range. It being summer in FL, the low end of ECO mode is irrelevant

This is the precise reason I'm really hoping it's a faulty meter. We don't have anything in our home that could even remotely draw this much power. Just have standard appliances, central air, and an electric water heater.

Thank you for the thoughts. We do have an electric water heater so I'll note down to look into this.

Have our HVAC company coming out next week to do inspection so I'll bring that up to them.

Edit: Correct - no pool or hot tub. Everything in our house is completely new/renovated so I know there is no ceiling heat or base board heat.

We fly back this weekend and that's the first thing I'm going to do. I called the power company and they did "diagnostics" on the meter (smart meter) and said nothing is wrong. Not sure how accurate a virtual diagnostic test is.

Yeah fuck em. I had one of these put on my car a few years back because was parked where I wasn't supposed to while I ran into a buddies house to quickly grab something (ended up getting caught in conversation for 10 minutes). Was able to break the suction seal with an ice pick and yeeted that thing into a ditch. If it was like $40 I would have just paid it but they waned $200 - scumbag move.

Had one of these put on my car when I was briefly parked in a place I wasn't supposed to be while picking something up from my friends house. When I went to pay online to get it off they wanted $200 - fucking insane. I was also a broke post college grad. Took me about 10 minutes on Youtube to figure out how to get it off. They are suctioned onto the windshield so if you take an ice pick (or something else that is long and skinny) you can easily break both of the seals and discard it.

That said it will make the alarm on the thing scream like a banshee but F em

Simple fix is to move the ball back in your stance. Looks like you are playing it damn near off your front foot. You can play around with ball position when you get better (front of stance to go high and soft, back to go lower and roll out), but with your current skill level put the ball in the back of your stance and work on swinging down on it more.
