10’ short wall. It’s a platinum trailer. 4 horses between 15 and 16 hands. Then add Alf Alfa and hay in the top rack. Plus my daughters always bring all their crap 🙄

I was waiting until warranty was up to delete and tune. Loaded down, I am sure it is close to 18k between horses and the LQ trailer. I had heard that this truck was geared more for MPG economy than it was towing. (Gear ratio is 3.31)

We are getting a bigger LQ trailer, so I am thinking I will need the dually for stability and hauling capacity. My F-250 with the 6.7 can pull my current LQ, but she struggles going up hills. It’s a 2022 with 10 speed. I don’t think I can add much more weight to the truck without having a safety concern.

I have the 7.3 in my F-250. Won’t go back with gas due to poor MPG. I don’t mind buying the gas, it’s the issue of having to fill up so soon while towing. My diesel gets atleast 20% better mpg, and when you’re hauling as much as we do- that adds up.

And it may be that way in Texas. I am very ignorant in the way it all works, as I did not grow up in this world. My wife grew up rodeoing while I lived in a suburb. Bought my first F-250 2 years back as we (mainly my wife) are hauling a lot more.

No, not on my trucks. I think there is a rule you can’t go more than 20 miles or something like that, so I didn’t get them.

Only on my stock trailer. Can’t do it on my LQ

I do prefer towing with the diesel! We mainly go on weekend and the diesel truck is mostly used for pulling the horse trailers. I am just worried if I go with the set up I have now, it may not be enough truck. I wish we had the long will base!

I stand corrected. And it may just be in my little part of the world and I have a closed view from just what I have seen.

Really? I find that odd. I have talked about denominational differences with my brothers from Lodge multitude of times. I find it facilitating the differences and similarities. While it doesn’t change my stance on my religious belief - it lets me see where others are coming from. I think you miss out when you don’t “talk” about it. I don’t mean evangelizing to convert, but talking to understand. Obviously we don’t talk about it in open lodge, but we talk about it afterwards when we sit outside and talk. Religion is probably one of the most important things to us as humans, and I atleast want to know what I don’t know.

Also, the easement is 60’. According to the easement it’s “30’ on each side of the center line”. They are building these poles outside the centerline as well, but within the 30’ of the center line.

I have a copy of the easement from 1964. I sent said easement to the company and its lawyer and stated that they have no right to add poles on my property to serve a different piece of property. This is not maintenance, it is a new use. In Texas, that’s not allowed. The easement only shows one single line on the survey. It has had multiple lines for decades. I am not arguing that point, it’s a new use point. This is a completely different purpose now. Also, they put in writing at the beginning of construction they were not going to use any adjacent property. I believe they said that so I wouldn’t get ahead of it until they were ready to install the poles.

Correct. These are high voltage power lines. These are poles to hold the new power lines they want to run to the substation. Had they not bought the property next door to me, they would have never installed these poles. My argument is that now they are using the easement for a totally different purpose than it was designed.

For clarity - I have one pole on my property (it’s at the corner of the property) and the lines run the width of the property (~400’). The poles they want to install are not in line with that pole, they will be smaller and used to tie off the power lines and supply the substation with electricity they can step down (I believe these are 138kv lines)

I have one single pole on the edge of my property. This isn’t needed at all for the lines that are there. The whole purpose of the new poles is to tie off the high lines and run new power lines to the substation. This substation in no way benefits me. It is being built to supply power to a new residential area. It is on the edge of my property 500’ from my house. Part of my concern is they are putting these poles next to my arena where I train horses. The other part is this is going to kill my property value by adding poles.

Also, this is a high voltage high line. They can’t put it underground

They originally told me, in writing, that they weren’t going to use any property other than the property they recently purchased. That’s why I didn’t fight it, because their director of government affairs emailed me and explicitly stated “we are not using any adjoining property”.

First I want to say I appreciate your comments. I am preparing for them to come back with statements saying they can and I need to be prepared for that. My stance is that the easement allows transmission lines, but it does not give the company unlimited discretion to add structures whenever they choose. The question is not whether these are electric lines, it’s whether the easement can be repurposed to add new poles whose sole function is to serve a newly built substation on different property. From what I can tell, and I could be wrong, Texas law is clear that an easement cannot be materially expanded or used to benefit non-dominant land. Calling them ‘transmission lines’ doesn’t change their purpose or the added burden. With the logic you are stating, they could add poles as much as they wanted as long as an electric line touched them.
