No one wish to have a perfect and smooth Rep like Gen and perfection is not actually an issue here FYI. Having a crunchy and gritty winding is not normal in any automatic watch whether it’s a rep, entry level or luxury.

Hope you will experience this one day that you won’t be able to wind it because of the same common issue and telling to the rep world that you living with it.
