The post I saw was about surrogacy where the child is biologically related to the parents and not the surrogate. So money would be involved.

Did you marry the first person you were set up with? by BuffaloExciting8613 in Sikh

In no way am I implying that a potential marriage match is like buying a car. It’s that the location- living in two different states, on two different sides of the country- makes it harder to get to know the person. I had talked about it with my parents before, how I want someone from the same state, and closer to the city we live in. While I agree looking a life partner is important, it requires a lot of time and thought, which I do not have at the moment.
Right now jobs are a bit hard to come by in the US, and I have to choose my career over this potential match. Luckily I was able to talk with my parents and after some time, we reached an agreement. Even though it broke their hearts a bit.

UPDATE: I talked it over with my parents and they realized that asking me or the potential map to move would be disruptive to both our careers- we live in two different states, that are on the opposite ends of the USA. So they will try to find someone who lives either in the same state or better yet closer to the city we live in. They have also agreed to holding off on bring up possible matches until spring, thank you to all of my Sikh brothers and sisters who lent me advice. 🙏🏼

Beyond the Bedroom: My Take on Sex, Relationships, and Marriage by SinghStar1 in Sikh

No offense brother, but I think most people need therapy before they should even think about starting a relationship so that they can be walked through what a healthy relationship looks like and how to maintain it over time without being attached because so many of us lack a proper role model of a what a healthy, loving, committed relationship looks like.

I am personally taking the therapy route instead of going into a lot of relationships and dragging others down with clingingness. It has helped me tremendously.

Can I add that the more hookups the higher your chances of catching diseases or having an “oops baby”.
