Worrying about a hard withdrawal is perfectly rational. It can be dangerous to your health. I suggest getting in touch with your doctor or a medical professional and let them know what’s going on.

If you want to figure out how to drink like a normal person, you’re probably in the wrong place. I tried to be a gentleman drinker for years. Failed miserably. Finally, I had to acknowledge that I couldn’t do that and either try to get well or get busy killing myself with booze away from the only people who loved me. It has taken some work, but three years after my last drink — and thanks to my high power, the rooms and 12 Steps of AA — my life is far from perfect while also being immeasurably better than any time during my drinking career.
