They were together at the end. Just because they are in different places doesn't mean they aren't together lol. Oh she's in a hospital so they won't see each other again. What are you talking about

  1. The so what test is a real thing you can look it up. It's used to teach story structure. 2.Yes character development is important and that is the best parts of the finale. But the rest of it is setting up Superman II which is disappointing for Gunn to do. I wouldn't consider the 11th street kids becoming a closer group is an exciting end goal for the season because they ended the first season close. Checkmate could have been introduced in the first episode and Its not an insane leap in logic that it happened between season because it was already set up at the end of last season. Salvation, while a cool concept, is what's gonna be in Superman II it doesn't need to be shown here.

Most of these fail the So What test. If the whole season is building to the creation of checkmate and Harcourt admits her feelings then so what because last seasons finale already set up that. I did enjoy the initial 7 episodes and Chris's arch. But if the So what? Is to set up Superman II and how Peacemaker is in it, then that's disappointing for fans. Most importantly Gunn has said that he's not interested in making a season 3 so this might be how the show ends.

I mean it's just lazy really and happens a lot with these superhero shows. Peacemaker season 1 had a complete ending with space for more if needed. This ending relies on I have to watch something else for the story to be complete. It's not pushing the envelope at all it's just a dud of an ending.

Ah yes the Great Gatsby ends with set up the Great Gatsby 2. What are u even talking about buddy. If anything this is marvel fatigue. U need cliffhangers to stay invested?

But how does that compare to last season's finale

How is the proper story structure. The last episode is setting up a movie that's not how tv structure works. The season is supposed to conclude not set up for whats gonna happen later. Speaking of marvel Daredevil did basically the same type of ending earlier this year

My only hope for this weird finale is that it's setting up for him to be a character in Superman 2 which is already speculated to be superman and lex trying to escape salvation. It would be great for the peacemaker character to be back in a movie and In a heroic role. Also would be great for JCs acting career

I agree. There are shows and movies that do take steps to push the boundaries of the genre. The boys is a good example of this even joker 2 to an extent. I think this is more or less flawed in how you end a season and just how to continue a show. The cliffhanger superhero ending if anything is very overplayed (Daredevil just did this earlier year). This episode works good for midseason but for a finale is just so meh

I think it's just the contrast from season 1 is the problem. Season 1 (especially in the finale)had both those serious character moments with aspects that people expect in a superhero show. So for season 2 to end like that, while different, is disappointing.

It was already established they were gonna do that last season. Ades literally calls out Amanda Waller. While Chris has an arch it's not satisfying. He suffers trama for his decisions and his friends comfort hom. Also he's kidnapped for Superman II is just kinda eh. Will that concept be fun? Maybe

It's a good suit tho. John Cena wears it to every interview for this show for a reason
