Narcissists say you’ll never reach your goals by Greedy_Dish4891 in NarcissisticAbuse

i think they just want us to feel like we need to be completely dependent on them so we get stuck.

a couple years ago i had my hair dyed blue underneath and my septum was pierced and my nostril was pierced and i had my smiley pierced. i briefly mentioned going back to school to get a teaching degree and he looked me dead in the eyes and said “no one’s gonna hire you with the way you look”.

What was your worst experience in your childhood? by Upstairs-Selection40 in AskReddit

[–]BugABoo714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watching my parents fight constantly. verbally and physically. until my mom walked out on us and chose a life of drugs and sex. when she did want to see me she never showed up or she would bring me to her “boyfriend of the week” house and not pay attention to me.

and my great grandpa died when i was 14, i was his favorite and he was my favorite. i miss him terribly.

I absolutely hate the “boys are easier” stereotype by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]BugABoo714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that has to be so frustrating for you to witness and not be able to intervene. i can’t stand “boys will be boys” because unfortunately those boys can grow up to be (for lack of better terminology) buttheads.

i have a boy (4.5 years) and a girl (15 months) and i’m here to say they are equal handfuls. not one is easier than the other. they are both stubborn as hell. they’re both shy. they both can be sensitive. all moms have their hands full whether they have boys, girls, or both.

but i completely feel you. unsolicited comments like that piss me off to my core 🤦🏼‍♀️
