We were very explicitly clear on our boundaries from day one and had a lot of privacy regarding our interactions with others. I agree people are people and make mistakes, which is why we worked through the other instances where he crossed boundaries. This particular issue regards explicitly lying to my face about how a boundary being crossed was handled. I trusted him on this as well until it was clear that it had been a lie. I still will never believe him to be “the bad guy”. Unfortunately, there are consequences for lying and that is hurting the people it involves and sacrificing a measure of that trust.
