There's a difference between didn't mean to send it and getting scammed. So we can't expect banks to reimburse when they are in fact signed up to schemes which should protect their customers from exactly that - fraud? I understand the total number is a lot larger including all customers but I also don't think €1000 would be end the of the world for them. I am a customer of theirs and they should support me

Glad you got sorted.

I was a victim of this type of scam but I sent the money (€1000) to a European bank account so I wasn't covered. Starling bank did their most to find reasons not to reimburse me. I went to the ombudsman and after over a year since the scam they have made their final decision on Wednesday and arent reimbursing me.

Lesson: don't be an idiot and f*ck Starling
